My Focus RS Mk2
Time to present our latest addition
We sold the red EsCos at the end of 2008 and the black one was gone at the end of may last year. 1 day later we were at the dealers ordering our new Focus RS
We ordered one in Frozen White with USB/BT and Lux Pack 2 (partial leather, parkassistant rear, key free with "Ford Power" startbutton, Solar Reflect, Quickclear and perimetric & volumetric alarm system). 3 or 4 weeks later we tried to change our order and add a Travelpilot Fx but at that time we already had a productionnumber
Too late to have it fitted in the factory but in the mean time we found a new one on eBay which has been fitted around X-Mas.
Ordered it on 29th of may and was delivered 31st of july. Only a few hours before we were to leave for Ford Fair... in our Mondeo diesel
But still very happy as we only had to wait 2 months
It was destined to become a garage queen but after a few months of ownership we decided to actual use it It has been my daily since november and the only downside is the fact I'm now running on 17" winterwheels & tyres which makes it look a bit like a kitted up 1.6. But anyone who has ever cleaned the standard 19" wheels can confirm you don't want to be cleaning those every week when temperatures begin with "-"
Compared to a Cosworth the mods list on this one is neglectable
We removed the Focus badge, replaced the foglight with an RHD reverse light, added some wind deflectors and an underbonnet sticker. Pretty impresive stuff
The Roose top hoses are in order at Jamsport though and as we're coming over for Ford Fair again this year a trip to SCC for some Eibach lowering springs, a K&N replacement filter and a Pro Alloy IC is planned as well
Only thing that's still up for discussion are the wheels. I do like the design but silver and white don't really do it. I'm not a fan of black wheels either and anthracite looks ok but I still have some doubts about the black&white car vs anthracite wheels. Not that I'm picky LOL
Delivery @ dealer
At home washed & registered
And some in winter setup/scenery
Thanks for looking

Thanks all
This year: Roose Motorsport top hoses, Pro Alloy IC, Eibach springs and K&N replacement filter
Someday: rest of the Roose hoses, downpipe and sport cat
Standard car was 32150 when we bought it but this was raised to 32900 2 days after we ordered (), BT/USB was 500 & Lux Pack 2 1500.
Registration is another 5000 which adds up to just under 40000 or Ł35000...
Thank god for 19% Ford personnel discount
I think the Dutch are the top payers as they "can have one" for +50000

Cheers all
Standard wheels: anthracite or black with a thin white line. I even considered gold but do I really want to pay a fee to Mike R's "Goldies Club" each year?
Also like the BBS CK's but same "colour" problem there.
LOL
I also think it's just brilliant FWD or not. Mister D. works for Ford at their Proving Ground in Belgium and everyone there is very enthusiastic as well. Last time they all agreed on a car was back in the EsCos days

Snow was/is fun but I also went to the Ford Proving Ground in Lommel in december '09 for my RS Training Day
Copy/paste of my little report back then...
These training sessions are exclusively for RS 2 owners in Belgium which is offered as an extra option.
Purpose is to demonstrate what the car can do, some instructions on handling the car, simulate oversteer, slalom, high speed, ideal line, linear braking, etc....
Course started at 9am and ended at 3pm. You use you own car but you get a set of wheels & tyres from Ford for the day. The handling track (where most of the setup of the RS has been done) was covered in salt but the Continentals were just awesome! Everyone was impressed with the grip they had on these salty and here and there icy roads. Even the instructor who hadn't tested them yet in these conditions.
Don't have that many pictures, but others that have completed the course have only 1 so I'm not complaining
Having a husband who works there does help a little
Room for mistakes
High speed track

No problem
It's not like they're THAT different
Don't know who he sold it to...
Don't want white wheels but I tried to photoshop the original wheels and some BBS CK's in black...
What do you think?

Compo's look nice, but no 19" wheels available (yet?)
I know, but >3,5k for a set of wheels is
And the sets I can find are 8,5" (front) and 10" wide (rear) which looks a bit strange on a fwd IMO
Did find these Lenso's... 180€/piece

Those black bonnet vents are on the "maybe"-list too
Some other wheel colours/options...
Anthracite with white line (Rob's car)
BBS LM (Guido's car)
White OZ Ultraleggera's
White Compo's
Choices choices...
