good cars, i have a black 5door one as a work horse
if your interested i have a full heated windscreen and washer jet loom and switch etc to plug straight into your car all you would need to do is add heated windscreen itself, great for these cold snaps were getting a demisting etc, £50 delivered
just fitted one for mine but collected to loom set ups so have one spare

You need to get it lowered dude, its the law
Also, while you are at you might want to uprate the brakes seeing as you intend to run gas. Std escort Brakes = pants
Cossie/Mondeo 280mm v6 discs on the Front and rs2k disc beam on the rear
Here's mine
Not a GTi but you get the idea

rs2k rear beam
Very easy to do, four bolts and thats it. Not only looks and works well, you will gain a working Handbrake. Just remember to buy the right cable and while you are at it its worth noting that the rs2k beam sits 15mm lower than the drum beam so what i done was buy a new pair of rs springs to suit or else you will find the car will squat
Here's how i fitted the Mondeo 280mm fronts
Just have to drill out the holes to accept m10
If you use Mondeo then the above is what you do and if you use escos then you need to get 10mm spacers but apart from that is simples
