floor getting ready to paint (over 100 hrs prep)


primer


resealing it all up again


underseal


paint on it (smooth effect )




hers it getting built by Mark Barber aka cossiecrazy aka the offical escort cosworth registrar






would show you th whole cant but dont get it back from the paint shop till the weekend(bare metal respray)

Good thread Here is a few of my saff, underbody restoration finished last summer, working on the engine bay right now.

How it looked.



After many hours with prepping, scraping all the underseal off and painting it looked like this.







All suspension, fuel/brake lines etc. fitted.

100hours preping a floor ur off ya cake bud lol ,ever heard a sand blaster i did mine in half hour lol

When i started









Cleaned up




Etch primer




Stone chipped , 12 litres of the stuff LOL





High build primmer





Base coat




Laquered and shiny




Finished article .










Took 2 yrs to finish the full resto but thats another 3dr saved .

Is the stonechip you have all used just the cheap stuff you get from a good motor factors or is it expensive stuff? im just about to stonechip my saff,iv got a few cans of stuff from halfords to use with a compressor but it was cheap,just wondering if it will be good enough.

The stuff i use is from your local body shop supplier ,made by soudol its about Ł6 a tin used on the 3 door at the top of the thread

Thanks mate,il see if i can find it.The stuff i got cost around the same as that but the finish dont look as good as the stuff you used.

Im not going bufty mate, it all going black with black arms etc...

Im toying withteh idea of doing the box, diff & tank in anthracite but not sure if it will be to dark.

Wow i would love to do the same to my cars floor but it will just mean more cleaning in the long run.I think i will just keep to black undersealer.

to this last year



and just upgraded it again to stage 2 rear beam and bad coilovers and other bits and now looks like this
