Very nice race to watch, with some awesome M3's E30, Ford GT40, RS500, Mustang, Porsche's, 190E 2.5-16.

The Texaco 3door was one of the most impressive touring cars of its era. Only held back by massive position weight (on the Avus in Berlin the suspension of the Sierra of Klaus Niedzwiedz broke because of 1600 kg of weight, iirc he drove the Texaco during the season) and air restrictors. Ford abandoned the DTM before turbochargers were forbidden. But Klaus Ludwig won the Championship in 1988 in the Sierra with the "Hein Gericke Speedware" decals.

1987 Ludwig, Steve Soper and Klaus Niedzwiedz won the 24h on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Texaco Sierra.

I found some pictures I took on Essen Motorshow of a Mondeo MK3 shaped race car, used in the BRL, the Benelux Racing League
