used to store my S2 in a barn over winter, farmer was showing us old tractors one day and my Dad spotted a mk1 Cortina in the corner. Had been in there for about 28 years, pics as dragged out:

Story was, guy bought it for his daughter but she didnt like it, they parked it up and forgot about it till my Dad tried to buy it, took about a year to persuade them to sell it.

1 owner from new, 17,000 miles, original tyres (which blew up!) 2 dr pre airflow shell, obviously never welded and as we stripped it down it needed very very little welding - think the fact that the barn was dry but airy helped its life.

Unfortunately he had to sell it last year due to financial circumstances, and it is now a Lotus rep which he is gutted about, wanted to keep it the original dark green and lower it on Lotus steels with a zetec

Still keeps in touch with the owner and apparently it will be on show at classic Ford show at the pod
