Yep we have vw 1.8l engines in some models here... But I don't know what to do whit this car yet... Today it's my daily driven car

before, I had a VW voyage here (the same American FOX, I think there aren't these models in Europe) powered with 1.8l engine, dual DCOE carbs and a 306ş camshaft and some little secrets , but I sold it because I didn't have time and a good space to take care of two cars, and because I drive almost 300km per week.. and that car couldn't be my daily driven car...

So now I'm thinking to change the actual engine that's the downer in my car...

I have the option to change by a ford engine 1.6l that is an old engine, but it's easily to do...

The VW engine is a little bit more difficult to change, although this engine can be extensive upgraded, there're many turbo charger kits for it and an extensive list of special parts easily found here, as forge pistons, camshafts and so...

Maybe could be more interest sell this car and buy a 1.8l XR3 ... If I buy one will be a MK4, for me it's the prettier..

although it's hard to find a XR3 mk4 in good conditions and when we find normally they're expensive...

Well, how can u see I'm in doubt yet... but If I have more news I'll bring here...

PS.: Sorry if I make some mistake in my post... my English it isn't good....

Thanks guys... Today I found a XR3 here and this saturday morning I'll go there to see this car, I hope that it be good, like in the pics that I saw.. If it will be Maybe a change the car...

Twins I saw some pix of your car sometime before in some brazillian foruns about cars... and I realy didn't know that I'll find the owner of this car here.. congratulations your car is AMAZING, great job...

Ryan 3 thanks pal... one of the reasons that I came here is to keep my English because I don't use it daily in my job so the forum will also help me lol
And here I find something that I ever liked.. Escorts!!! It's my 1st Escort but I learned to drie in one and my father had 4 escorts, although today his car is an Opel Astra.. but many times he like to use mine... lol

Well, At home I had some pics that are in better quality so follow some of them...

Front view

some inside pics.. the speakers are intalled in the standard places only the tweeters are over the panel, I use a Pioneer Premier 580MP

Here after the shower and wax

I really liked to put down a little bit more this car but the roads here aren't so good for it and I have some problems with my exhaust hitting the main axis (I don't know the correct term for it)

So that's All...

Was expecting it to be bare metal with a small strip of paint up the roof... proper brazillian

Car looks brilliant, very clean and the wheels suit it well.

Change your engine! Maybe a Rocam 1.6!!!
It's much better then the CHT 1.6 and VW 1.8 (EA-827).

Roberto,

After I conclude the college, I'll have more time$$$ to spend in the car... And I'll buy another one to be my daily driven... So I'm thinking (just thinking in the moment) to put a Duratec...

An easier swap would be by a VW 1.8 but you know, A FORD Vehicle deserves a FORD engine!!!

Let's wait... Among our Brazilian Ford engines I prefere a Duratec, I know won't be easy and cheap, but the result will compensate

Nice looking car mate! Didn't think they would suit!

Anyone else forget it was left hand drive and with the driving pics think it was moving without a driver?... probably just me!

looks a good one, is teh bumper hard plastic or a foam over skin? its an xr (over here) design but looks like the matt is the actual plastic not matt on a smooth bumper , weird

do you have many esocrts over there? even in scrap yards?

Well the front and rear bumbers are standard in my car, My rear bumper it isn't in a pretty good condition, but how it's a original piece I decided to keep it on the car.

I think that they are of hard foam inside and have a plastic skin outside... my rear bumper released the plastic in some parts... But i didn't get courage to fix it

I phone some months ago and I find a new rear bumper in a store here in my city, it was an original part and costs around of $160,00

We have many escorts here it was the most sold Ford vehicle in Brazil between 83' and 98', but we just had MK3 to Mk7. and the models were different from Europe... Rs version never came to here... (in Mk7 had one but came only the name... the engine was the same in all mk7 versions)...

There are some escorts in Scrap yards too... And we can find easily some original pieces to replace. Some of them not so easy as recaro seat, but usually u can find...

Nice to see some Brazilians on here. I'm looking into moving to Brazil (Joao Pessoa, Paraiba) soon. I'm wondering if you know the law/rules for importing a car to Brazil. Is right hand drive cars ok or do they need to be converted to left hand drive? Is it easy to register a car over there?

Your Escort looks really nice.

Your Escort looks really nice.

I live in Curitiba that is in the South of Brazil.. it's 2000km far from Joăo Pessoa... u probably will fell bad about the temperature , in the north is ever hot... comparing to most part of Europe is much more hot...

well if you want bring your car to here, I tell you that is better buy a new one here than bring it to here.. Importing used cars is hard, almost impossible and if you get you'll spend a fortune... I don't know about the rigth hand drive... I think that it would be problem too...

There is a discussion in our Escort Forum here about import a Cossie, but it is so difficult that I think the easiest way is import it to Paraguay our another crossboard country (in Joao pessoa any country is far probably the nearest is venezuela our guianas, for us in the south, Paraguay is near)... and ride with it here but the documentation needs to be in Paraguay...

The only exception is for old cars over 30 years made... that could be considered how collection cars.. But it wouldn't be easy too.
