You wont believe it.......I tried neat thinners, T cut and G3 hardly touched it.

Just about to give up and spied my Turtle wax- bug and tar remover on the shelf.

My brain (yes i have one) connected the word tar with melted plastic and rubber fumes.

And it worked a treat! (ironically its shit at removing bugs and tar)

Ill hold you to that!

Id love to get it in a magazine, was going to put my S1 up after the resto but i fiqured seen one S1 you seen them all.

I love the mag, would be such an honour to the car to have some sort of article on it.

I personally love reading stories where the owner has a "real story" to tell, much more awe inspiring then reading abot some bloke whos chucked Ł20k at a cossie.

Please stay in touch as id love to see the car have a write up... i think she desevres it, and a mention to all the kind peeps on here for their support.

Ive just sat and read the whole of it, and in my 8 years of mooching around car associated forums, this has to be one of the best threads ive ever had the pleasure of reading ! Id say your a legend, but you make the word legend look something minor.. words cannot describe the dedication ! Welldone!

Will the rest of the paintwork buff up ok or will you have to blend areas like the doors back in again? Guessing it's mainly smoke and dirt going from the last photo, just wasn't sure close up whether the heat had affected it more than the photos show.

Not sure, but someone sent me one in the post yesterday for free

Rest of body is relativly untouched.

Doors are fine

theres a small 2" circle of heat bubbling on the foor directly above the drivers sunvisor area.

But if you look some tool has also installed a bee sting aerial up front, so its the perfect oppertunity to erase that from history also!! And just run new paint down the A pillars to blend in.

Want to get it running first now before i do any more cosmetics!!

The existing paint work is not concourse/mint condition as said in the start of the resto. But is more then good enough to be presentable.
Im thinking i will leave it as it is and just give it a G3/G10 moping to bring it to life again.

When i painted my S1 it was totally mint, but i ended up selling it as i was too scared to damage the paint!
