New member (sort of!), few pics of my car
Hi all,
Been a member for a while but thought i'd introduce myself and show a few pics of my car, bought from this very forum for the princely sum of 100 English pounds! Owned a fair few cars but always seem to come back to Fords. It's a 97 Escort 1.6 si with sky high mileage, but it runs really well and it's got a few little additions such as;
GTI kit
SS Exhaust
Drilled and grooved front discs
Lowered (properly, shocks and springs)
It didn't look quite like this when i bought it, but its amazing what a few bits here and there and a bit of elbow grease can do.
Stuff done;
Replaced front fog which was smashed
Fitted front grill
4 new tyres
rear wheel bearings
A bloody good clean
MOT & Tax
Stuff to do;
Oil change
Few scratches here and there to touch up
Fix the hole in the drivers side sideskirt (can just about make this out in the second pic, by the rear door)
Gearbox mount
Water pump (it leaks slightly)
New front numberplate
It's not a minter by any stretch of the imagination, but for 100 sheets i think you'll agree it's not bad!

Ah ha, got it! Nice one mate!
Cheers mate, i know, it is amazing what you can get. Been into Renaults the last few years, in particular the 19 16v's. If you want a quick, decent handling car for little money i don't think there's much else that can touch them. Things do tend to fall off them as you're driving along though, which can be inconvenient. Hence my reasoning for leaving them well alone for the time being!
