Repairing Si Cossie Splitter
Started work ton the Si cossie splitter, what a mess its in
Started by cleaning it down and putting some filler primer on which showed me all the hairline cracks in it
Got the things i needed to patch it up.
Reinforced it from the inside with fibreglass where the cracks go all the way through it
Then put some expanding foam filler inside to strenghen it
Started filling the outside cracks, chips and hairline cracks.
Sanded it all down going through the grades starting at 120 down to 1500, primed and resanded it back for imperfections. Theres some very minor blemishes in the filler that i'll go over again, then maybe put a resin coat over the top of the filler and sand it all flat again. Iam very happy with how its going though. Cracks are now gone
Managed to sand it all down and give it a final coat of filler primer. Just need to give it a light sand now.

Small pic update with one of the MK3.5 painted mirrors. Also got back the RST vents but still waiting for the other mirror and bonnet. Also an opportunity to test my new 12.1MP Sony Cybershot
Compare against the DTM.
RST Vents & stainless under bonnet plates

I've been doing more work on the cossie splitter. Picked up a spare Si front bumper to attach the Si splitter to.
Test fitted it and the arms where sticking out loads, so bolted it in from the side to keep it all together why i run filler on it. Its reinforced inside underneath the splitter with fibreglass, foam filler and a metal "L" bracket.
Still needs some final sanding and refilling in areas but its getting there slowly.

havent updated in here for ages, so i'd thought i'd pull the pile of poo out the garage today and have a play with it. Pulled off the old front bumper and trial fitted the si cossie front i finished about a year ago
fits ok just looks rubbish in primer.

Fair play to you mate, if someone said they ripped around in a flip painted Fiesta then I'd imagine some wanky looking pile of shite.... but, this actually doesn't look too offensive on the whole and you've put a decent amount of effort in too. Well done.
Cheers,
Grant

Yer the paint is like marmite, people love it or hate it. I want to put cossie rims on and replace the Mondeo spoiler for standard RS top spoiler.
