Steven, in the same boat mate, mines worth 5k tops, and given a decent FRS is going to be 10k, I figured why bother with the additional 5k outlay??

Doubt there is anything in performance, and as you say the civic is bullet proof and not the end of the word if it gets scratched as originality is less important.

Honda just did a check over/inspection and gave it a clean bill of health, other than servicing (done by a local guy so cheap really) I haven't had to touch it.

Rich, I really rate them, you'd have to take one for a spin to see what you think, but once you get used to the gear position you'll think every car should be like it lol!!

Takes a little getting used to using the power, the natural instinct as you get to 6k is to change, but that is when these start to sing - plant and go, but feels a little naughty at first hearing that engine scream, just have to remember they are built for it.

Plus, with the market as it is, 5k will get you a decent pre facelift , and 6k plus will see you in a minter.

i dont know if i could go back to the gear stick down low.the type r one is perfect.had mines since 9k on the clock.now 40 bang on and just had to do front brakes and some tyres.i couldnt pick a fault with it.
