The red XR
I really don't know why I haven't joined this forum before, I'm getting a bit fed up with certain other XR2 orientated boards so here I am.
I've owned this car for 16 years on the 19th of this month, so I thought I'd post a few pics from a recent mk7 promotion I did with the local Ford dealers.
and heres one of the current project. It was garaged in 1998 and had been there ever since until I bought it in August this year. 73K on the clock for £200

Thanks madmack99.
The blue one is actually mercury grey, my digicam doesn't like the colour. Its currently up on stands with no suspension, brakes or fuel tank/lines as I'm cleaning it all down before repainting it body colour. I'm hoping to have it ready in time for the Xr national day concours at FITP next May. I've been doing modified mk2 Xr2 concours with the red one since 1996 and thought I'd give standard class a go this time. Bluddy sight harder though as everything has to be as original as possible, I'm used to spraying anything less than perfect.
I'll get a post started on it in the restoration forum

Ed - it was in Busseys because they'd just got their first mk7 fiesta in stock and both me and the sales manager thought it would make a good display, so it went in there for a day. The XR came from Busseys in Norwich when it was new, so it was just a little trip "home" really

Beautifull XR2's.
I had a red 1988 XR2 back in 1991. Parents bought it for my 18th birthday. Loved that car. Had a Power Engineering System 2 engine put in. The pictures bring back a lot of memories.

Ey up Stuart (if that's you? lol!)
If you remember me (Mark with the modded black XR2 - you beat me to 2nd place at Ford Fair in 1998, and I then won it in 2003 and 2004), in fact you can see your car next to mine in this pic:-
Your cars still look superb, mate, and look forward to updates on the project (I'm putting some of the bits back to standard on mine (harnesses have gone, orange indicators back on, etc.
P.S Did anyone offer to buy the red one whilst it was in the showroom, do you know? lol!
