Default Speedway Training Day Pics

Not car racing but i thought some may enjoy these pics

dont know if any of you have seen this sport before but i have been involved/watched it since i was 13

these guys are not as quick as the top guys in the world but it still takes some guts to get on and ride a 500cc motorbike with NO brakes

Awesome stuff.

Speedway is a mans sport. 500cc single piston 4 strokes that'll hit 70mph using 1 gear and like you say no brakes!

Yhhhhh I know about this sport i go down perry bar and watch the birmingham speedway and also watch the elite league on the tv

Question

Used to watch Ellesmere port gunners as a kid, long time ago, but still remember the sounds and smells of the speedway, and getting showered with the gravel as they past us on the corners........the stars of my day were the likes of Peter Collins and Ivan Majors, must go to Belle Vue in Manchester one of these days, GREAT pics mate. BTW could you tell me what the bracket arrangement thing does behind the front forks.

that is part of the front suspension (if you can call it that)
they have large rubber bands attached to give the spring affect and one shock on the left hand side
