well il start by saying i hate fords, im a fiat guy but i wanted a cheap to run, mad looking run about, so a fake escort cosworth it was.

it is a crap replica but what you expect for £400? will do for me, i mainly joined cos im wanting a real front bumper for it, and maybe some wheels.

gotta love that uno turbo, my cousin had a 1.4 ie turbo, was a rapid motor, just dont crash it or ul not have alot of metal unbent.

 

i drove an uno turbo once felt fast as fuck due to the poor build quality just like the reno 5 turbo

As for that shonky escort, it needs wheels badly, low offset and wide as you can. Get rid of the queer rears for some red/smoked jobbies, ebay would be your best bet or check the parts for sale section here. Then ditch the chrome plate holder and it'll be better!

Bout 10 years back a mate called and told me his work mate had an uno turbo that was a non runner for 300 notes.

I declined, but my sisters fella said he would have a look, when the garage door opened I was gutted, stunning little uno turbo, tax and mot'd for 300 notes.

Made even worse, when we clocked a wire of the starter!!!! we dragged it home - didn't want to get it running incase the seller backed out of the deal once his car was fixed.

Attached the wire, but nothing??? after a day of searching, we found a load of grease in the ecu plug, cleaned it out and it fired straight up!!!

The thing felt like a rocket back then, was green with envy!!!

i didnt really think anyone would take much notice of that and get so offended, if so sorry but it often happens on fiat forum, we just ignore it cos obviously we all favour different makes, obviously mostly ford on here but im sure we have all owned different makes even if we arnt too keen on them, i do like this ford though, there ok, its just the common ness of them i dont like.

 

Get the right wheels on the escort and it would fool most people, offset of those is just silly though.

 

Most of the mods / admin / longer term members, have seen the error of their ways and fucked fords off in favour of something decent, at least you figured it out early on

bonnet prop is missing

the wires are just for loads of stuff.... alarm, switched ignition, battery in boot so loads of wires going all over the place!, fog lights, fans etc, it does need a tidy up but im not too bothered really.

i took it off now, replaced it with pipercross.

i really like the fiat i remmember when i was going to swop some chav my gti for he`s rear wheel drive rst powered panda right fun it looked but it has been ragged to death.

Many years ago one of my mates owned a Uno turbo, it was one of the biggest bag's of wank I ever had the miss-fortune to be seen in There's a reason Ford are common, they've been market leaders for over 30 years....something Fiat will never see.

how many cars are sold arnt how good they are, fords have never racked up that high but people still buy them cos they dont want to change, and fiat are doing well atm, sales are up by hell of alot, also fiat & ford are building cars together atm.

Fiat are also working with Vauxhall....they are working with anyone who will have them because they need all the help they can get European car of the year award? yay. Motorsport race wins, wanna talk about them?? Just about every Fiat that ive had to work on in nearly two decades in the motor trade have caused me grief. The build quality is shite, the ride quality is dated and the brand image is still nothing to shout about. Had the misfortune to work on a stupid little Siento (sp?) today....god awful contraption in every manner. People dont want to change? Its not the same people that have bought cars for the last 30+years In the mainstream market area, most of the sales stats are made up by lease sales....ie reps and commercial sales....lease companies dont just buy on what they've had in the past, they buy on what company offers the best deal and the best suited cars. Dont come onto a Ford site shouting the odds and expect an easy ride from all unless you've got something worthy to shout about

one thing though, fiat arnt using ford parts, its the other way round.

new ford ka is using fiat engines and fiat panda chassis.

and seicentos are really good to work on, so easy.
