fake escort cosworth & my fiat uno turbo

Seicentos have to be easy to work on....they need to be Although im not overly sure on how a car being easy to work on makes it a good car....if that were the case then we'd all be driving around in Moggy Miners.
Here's and example of Fiat engineering for you, you'll like this one.....rear shoe adjusters what a marvel that ingenious idea was

Loving the uno turbo, i cant remember the last time i saw one of these. Some of the new fiats look cool, i'd get one of these 500 abarths for the missus.
I remember someone i knew had a normal uno and her neighbour had it every month to fix something on it. Usually a running problem. I think Fiat have come a long way. Some cool cars have worn the badge Coupe turbo, X19. I don't think they were any less reliable than other cars of the era just not as popular so issues were blown out of proportion, look at the direct competition at the time XR2, Nova sr, Pug 205 gti.
Good to see one cared for though.
And:
Ford = Fix Or Repair Daily
Fiat = Fix It Again Tony

Have been out in a few quick Uno's, guy round here wrote off a seriously fast white one (~200hp) but they're honestly one of the ugliest, shitty made 'performance cars' i've ever seen. The way his car bent up from the accident as well scared the shit out of me.
You made some good points about Ford but most poeple on here (if they don't have BMW's) aren't that bothered about the Mondeo diesel LX or similar but the enthusiasts motors. Doubt you'll have as much to say with the RS's
Have put some work in on your Uno fair play mate, what power you hoping for?

dont under estimate the uno, mine did a 13.9 with a blowing manifold on low boost (blew the manifold gasket warming the tyres so did 1 run on low boost) www.turbocollective.net . come on stu, we dont care about motorsport wins as road cars aint the same spec as them anyway. i had an escort turbo and had nothing but trouble (was years ago when decent management wasnt used)
ps, is your cossie sorted yet stu? wouldnt mind having a nosey round it

From: Norfolk Drives: Couple of Fords
Uno is quite cool, but saying you hate Fords is a bit of a daft thing to say on an enthusiast forum and expect to get no reaction!
Fords are common because they're reasonably priced, cheap to run and maintain and pretty reliable, especially the new ones.
Everyone I know who's owned a Fiat just has masses of trouble with it. I know some of the performance Fords are a bit unreliable, but every Fiat seems to suffer from it, from base model to ranger topper!
Welcome anyway though, rep could be ok with some work, just get the proper lights and bumper on and some decent wheels!
