Default S2 with roll cages fitted, pic request....

Hello, has anyone got any pics of s2's with roll cages fitted? I want to fit one to my car but also want to keep all the trim in and was wondering if they fit without cutting bits?

thanks

Good stuff

Looking at the pictures it looks like there a fair bit if cutting (dash, rear trim etc) involved. I was hoping to fit it and keep the trim all in, is this posible?

SD cages miss the dash but OMP you have to trim the dash like i have on mine..

i used m10 bolts in my cage, had to just drill out the holes in the rollcage mounts very slightly to use them but rather big bolts than thin ones!

surely you have to weld a plate to the piece you are bolting it to though? or its just going to rip the bolts out?

I got my cage second hand so no fitting kit, i used some bolts from b&q prob 3" (75mm) m10 i think and placed the head underneath with some heafty square washers. I then cut the bolt off flush with the nut inside the mota.

hi there,
my mate had same prob with cage as didnt want to cut things up.he went for a show cage(fusion i think).but if you goin to do track days its worth getting a proper bolt in 1.

you could always get a second dash and that from a breakers???

that would more than likely just rip out if you were to crash

You really need to have a nice thick plate welded onto the arch where the bolts go or its quite pointless having a cage.. also id have some big thick washers under the bolts that go through the arch

Or even better just have it welded in and get nobby to seam weld it if he's any good with a welder or give it a go yourself..

with my bolt in cage i got some thick plates shaped for the floor pan and arches and bolted it up using these, not ideal i know but better than just bolting it to the floor

You really should have proper spreader plates on there.
