Default My Winter Runaround!!

Was planning to run a Rover 216GTi over the winter.. but I saw this for sale on the RS Owners Club and I couldnt resist going for a wee look at it.. well... I liked what I saw so I bought it.

I gave it a wee clean today as it'd been sitting in the guys driveway since July/August time which caused the paint to become a little faded, here are some pics (I'm gonna try get some more in better light sometime):

It wont be to everyones taste, in fact, I didnt think I was a fan... but it drives really well, its responsive, makes an awesome noise and its great to have some Recaros to plant myself into again.

Grant

Yea, it was a good deal... Shouldnt lose too much money on it, which is different when it comes to cars!!

I have got to get an original MK5 RS2K bonnet catch and trigger before I can fit the twin bulge bonnet...... It'll look miles better with that fitted.

Think you guys are right, sitting along side the Rover today, the RS looked miles better!!

Grant

Thanks for the info Martin... Can you let me know what the actual spec of the engine is then?? Guy mentioned Cams & Superchip... but as he didnt do any of the work, I wasnt sure whether or not that was the case.

All I know the car has got for sure is:

- Exhaust System (Backbox?)
- Induction Kit

Its got other stuff like Springs, Wheels, Stereo, etc... but I'm not sure what its got under the bonnet.

Cheers,
Grant

As far as i know the engines standard apart from the filter and exhaust, just after i got it it had the head gasket done so no need for that in a long time, car had kyb shocks and spax 40mm springs, new ford bottom arms, new lambda sensors, new drilled and grooved discs fitted just before i sold it, guy at ava said he hadnt seen a rs2000 produce that kind of power for being standard so its a strong one, anymore info you need mate let us know
cheeRS martin. Oh forgot to add the exhaust system when i had it is a full magnex system with decat pipe on there.
