The rapid fit mondeos had sleved down v6 engines to 2000cc iirc, so did the xpower mg's years later

Youre right except all the Mondeos from Day one ran V6's based on the Mazda 2.5litre engine the KL , this was stroked and messed around with to make it 2.0litre. Fuckin shocking the history that they just chuck away!

Was going to say I thought that the engine's were basically sleeved down V6's

In the last couple of seasons they did when prodrive got hold of them. But it was really only ford and vauxhall (think there was another but can't remember) that entered in them days. The mk2's look mint with there almost michellin pilot colour scheme
