The rapid fit mondeos had sleved down v6 engines to 2000cc iirc, so did the xpower mg's years later
But that wasn't based on the newer Duratec V6, was it?
Youre right except all the Mondeos from Day one ran V6's based on the Mazda 2.5litre engine the KL , this was stroked and messed around with to make it 2.0litre. The later cosworth engines from 97/98 were cut into 52 seperate pieces and re-welded to achieve the height and crank position, also to encourage the valve tracts into the right place , works of art ,The nearside Driveshaft ran through the V of the motor to get the centre of gravity right ! Sadly now all buried in a Hole in Boreham !

Did the mondys do well in touring cars.Did they have weights in them to slow them down at one point.
In the last couple of seasons they did when prodrive got hold of them. But it was really only ford and vauxhall (think there was another but can't remember) that entered in them days. The mk2's look mint with there almost michellin pilot colour scheme
