LOVE IT!
Apart from the Jap rear back box, doesn't suit the car in any way.
Can't wait to see more pics and see it out and about

Personal preference though, if we were all the same we would all be boring.

thanks a lot for your comments so far .....the engine is a ca18det from a nissan 200sx. i personally chose the wheels just because the are a bit different from what is usually seen on them but they still are close to home because they are still ford of course . i also chose the back box becuase i didnt see much else available to me that would suit the engine and the exhaust system i was using so i felt that was the best i could get.
thanks again

Thanks a lot for the comments, , they are much appreciated. Here goes with the work involved.
Unfortunatly,
most of the build pics have been lost but i can show a few. Firstly, when i bought the car as standard about 4 years ago my first engine choice was a 2.1 pinto.
I didnt have the chance to use this engine for long before destroying the gearbox but during this short time I felt that I anted something a bit different. Ater a lot of thought about cosworth turbo and after buying things for a cossy i decided on a nissan engine.
surprisingly, the block fitted under the bonnet into the cuts in the bulkhead i had made for the pinto but it was the longer gearbox of the nissan that meant that the tunnel had to be cut out and rebuilt.
After doing this, the main job was the wiring. It was this that was the hardest part but after a lot of effort was put in by a friend (scottie) it got there in the end.
Before completion, the next job was the fuel tank. Already i had bought a walbro pump for the nissan so i felt i had to use the nissan tank. to do this i had to cut it into six pieces and weld it together much smaller to look like this:
this is a very shortened idea of what exactly was involved but soon after this point, things under the bonnet were tidied up to get the car looking like this:
Then to a slightly more completed look:
and just to complete over the weekend there, the front was painted to look as it does now in the pics at the beggining of the post:
overall, it has went from looking like this in with the pinto:
to this with the nissan:
for this reason i feel i was succesful as i have managed to keep the car looking almost the same so people that do not know will still think it is a pinto .
thanks for reading
jim
also, i think it is making around the 200ish bhp mark and yesterday it done 15.2 in the damp at crail
