Default Just finished my Escort Cosworth RC Shell

This is a 1/10 Tamiya Escort Cosworth vintage model which I found on ebay. Different to the modern kits, Vintage means the shell has to be cut from the mould, the windows have to be hand masked with pieces of tape tape and spray painted (7 coats). The other git is having to freehand cut the decals as they weren't precut back in the day
It came with Tiger stripes decal sheet but I wanted a standard looking car.
Also got a set of my favorite Monte Oz Racing wheels which are scaled to 19"
Just waiting on my Chassis to come back with it's new Nitro engine

It takes a long time to come up with the design and make it 'fit' the shell, also masking it all off takes a lot of time, but the actual painting only takes about a day to do once you're prepped (including drying time between coats).

As you say its different, was painted to appear in r/c concours competitions where you need eye catching design rather than authenticity.

Nice shell, Tamiya one is that?

Where do you intend on running it? For on road you need quite a flat surface free from debris to beable to run it. Stones etc. get under the chassis and can cause havok

You can still have a car with an on road shell but you need one with a decent ground height which will clear stones etc

Most ready sets will be ok if you want something to start on, basically you dont want anything designed for track use

I wouldn't recommend a fusion though if your just starting into it as it will be wrote off very quickly That reminds me, when you get one buy a fail safe aswell

I use mine on very flat tarmac and as fun as it is... nothing compares to this for having RC fun

I also have an old skool Super Clod Buster just needs paint.. I always wanted one as a kid but couldn't afford one its proper lame compared to the Savage but still looks like a 'proper' monster truck as I remembered them
