Nice 1, i'm looking fo a new bodyshell kit to put on the spare chassis, you cant buy em any more, you can only get them pre built/painted, i want to paint it a diff colour other than green or red,

That shell looks very good m8!
So you are into nitro RC which is cool but I like electro on-road drifting.
Had some drift tires made out of HDPE material to fit onto my TL-01.
Here a few pics about my 1:10th Focus WRC
my chassis
how low can you go?
some other wheels fitted
and these BBS-lookalike wheels

If you want some real RC fun, get your 4wd, take the rear diff apart, gum a load of blu-tac in there with the cogs to lock it- u can get it all out later if u want! Put some insulation tape over your tyres and get out on the street in a drift stylee, guarantee its the most fun u ever had with your car.
Heres a quick link to a quality drift video, I compete in the UKD1 RC Drift championship im 30 by the way!

Depends which is cheaper for him really, if you cant be bothered getting a one way then why not. Ive heard loads of people use sand paper aswell but the blue tack way seem better if you want to use it as a diff again
#92
Not heard of anyone using a one way in the rear jr, few people use them in the front but depends on what u get on with really.
U can buy solid spool for the rear so no diff at all but the blutac works just the same, does alrite for me, came 3rd in the championship this year and missed 2 of the rounds
Heres a couple pics of me shells an chassis, no fords just yet tho, got me eye on an old school Repsol tho

That a heavily modded ta03? Bet that cost a bit
Love those drift shells aswell
Edit to last post: a one way would also mess up the car by not giving it rear brakes/ or no drive at all depending how it fits, you'd need a spool in the back

Spot on mate, its a TA03f, the best drift chassis ever made, shame they stopped sellin it makin bits a bit harder to find an yeah, I got a few quid in it, daren't add it up!
Didnt get into RC till this year an never driven on in a straight line, sideways is the only way
Thanks for the comment on the shells, I didnt have the balls to paint em myself as the R32 Skyline is pretty rare an the S15 was one of the first in the country, had to pay someone to do it for me

Thats a nice one, I remember looking in the catologue and them being the special version, top of the range at the time. Speaking of which i just found my old catologue and its dated 1999 and it has the cosworth in it. Pretty sure soon after it was discontinued
Iv'e got a tamiya pretty similar which is the porcshe shell as above which is the TA03R-S which has ther motor just infront of the rear wheels and a slightly shorter chassis - hence R-S
Also the one way would only lock one way, so depending on how it fits compared to the front it will either lock the transmission(as wanted) but will have no rear brakes, or vice versa

Yeah, thats nice, thats an 03r trf with an 03f front gearbox so twin motor power, nearly got enough spare parts to build one of them myself but I heard they are a bitch to get set right so u get equal power, looks sweet tho.
The one way is used by other drifters in the front so when you come off the power it works a bit like a handbrake helpin the back out, a lot of people are takin them out now tho as they aint a lot of good on a bigger track, locked rear is the way to go as runnin on nearly plastc tyres u need to have pretty good balance when u hit the power or the brakes.
Paul - U should EBay that R32 shell, would prob make good money, I already got another unpainted else I would have it.
Question is, does anyone have an unpainted R33??

there r some mint cars cars on here i am looking 2 get 1 ov these but i dont have clue what to go for been on ebay but you need bits 2 go with them are they easy 2 get and what are crystals i fancy a escort thanks 4 any advice u can give me
#107
chystals go in the transmitter and reciever.
a lad in work has a xtm xt2 which i a buggy type 1/8 scale nitro car, quite quick, but they have some more advantages than a 1/10 road car. they are brand new on there for 200, you get all the radio gear. you will need to buy a glow plug heater which is around 14pound tops.

Electric are quite fast, haven't got the top end nitro have but are quick to accelerate. Quickest resonably will be about 35-40mph with a mod which is quite quick, but it will be expensive to run. Realistically if you just want a play thing then about 25-30mph is realistic, with not a huge amount of maintenance required.
If you just get a chassis then you will need a motor (stock 27t for 25-30mph), speed controller, radio gear, battery pack and a charger, thats not if some are included in the package (most decent kits come without these)

very nice vid.
Do you know RCDori or Groovydrift RC drift forums?

Yes mate, im on RCDori but spend more time on DRCCentral which is a bit more uk.
I started with a tl-01 with locked diff, try tape on the tyres first but then u want to move up to some 2" pipe on your rims.
That sg drifters vid is good but I'd say the UKD1 RC crew are easily as good if not better, jus too much practice
I seen u about Cossie, I'm c9vev on DRC or c6vey on RCDori.
