Default paying for what

I think placing desert storm next to the miltary who are also on our stand with the help for heroes Escos is a winning idea, I will be taking donations from you all towards our gazebo fund and secure regalia for future shows like the BTCC we are attending in october.

Seeing as any promotion is going to drive people to the forum, which is a business venture, wouldnt that sort of thing just be a sensible investment for IB to pay for? After all we all pay to be members so shouldnt really need to treat the site as a charity as well as a business should we?

Well it will make the owners money, so like I said it would make a sound investment for them.
Have you approached them about it?

I was going to comment on this earlier on Chip, but I suspect you've just answered your own question there buddy. I certainly wouldn't bank on getting any form of financial support from IB, however I look to be proven wrong.

I am firmly of the opinion that if a PF club drives extra revenue their way, than they should in turn put money into the club to help it grow, that way its symbiotic rather than parasitic and everyone ends up better off IMHO

Given that one of their main revenue streams is to charge people for using PF to advertise and build brand awareness, they of all people should be aware of the value of a club carrying the PF name and its impact on building brand awareness too surely?

you have been told that it has nothing to do with IB !Steve has kind made the role of show org his off his own back so people who own fords can show there cars IB havbnt asked him to do it so why should they back it ? I suppose IF it shows a member increase they might take it seriously but for the imediate future its steves baby just run under the pf banner oh has had donations from msd for banners ect ! shit i even donated a couple of quid ! dont no why everything has to be turned into a fuckin misery

Lol

I think he's just trying to help mate, by pointing out they should be invloved, but they're not so we should just move on and get it done otherwise we'll never get anywhere and just keep talking about it. I do agree however that we should just leave it be and if IB come to the party 6 months from now, great, if not we'll see how it goes.

If Steve cant sell to IB that a visible presence at all the major ford shows is good for membership numbers, he cant be much of a salesman, lol

Whether they asked for it or not doesn't change they are the logical sponsors, I dont see the problem in me asking that if they are going to benefit from our club why dont we approach them to help out with our club, its in THEIR interests too, not just ours.

Not sure what is with all the emotion everywhere, its a perfectly valid question to put to IB IMHO that if we are going to be representing one of their large websites in which they have a sizeable financial investment since swapping it with Petrucci for a yacht, that it might be in their interests to help us do so as professionally looking as possible by either subsidising or providing certain show related items.

Chip there is nothing to discuss on a public forum as of yet, its early days and no doubt will be reviewed in due course by the powers that be. Having a stand for passionford ladies and gents to be a part of is my primary concern so we can enjoy a good day out, who knows what 2013 will bring.

As I said, just cause no one has asked for it doesnt mean it doesnt benefit them, and if it does then its worth talking to them about it at some point.

I notice 1-pd was straight in there with with his usual "get your hands in your pockets to help us buy a gazeebo" approach and I just think that in the case of a club that has such commercial value it might be nice if the members were relieved of the continual financial burden of such clubs for once, so IMHO its worth talking to IB about, if they are the keen businessmen they seem then I dont see why they wouldnt want to contribute if approached correctly.

If this is a PF club, then why on earth wouldnt the PF forum be a suitable place to throw ideas aboutwith regards to how to get it up and running? You seemed determined to bring in RSOC style behind closed door discussions, surely thats exactly the wrong approach to have?

You've already brought up the subject of funding by the members via a whip round, my suggestion is merely to include IB in that whip round, as its very much in their financial interests for the PF club side of things to succeed as it will generate revenue for them!

I would have thought a sensible approach might be a "every pound raised we will match it" sort of deal with IB, I think if something like that could be set up it would really encourage people to contribute towards the (sadly) much needed funds a new club requires if it wishes to grow quickly. And by definition it would mean they were only putting money in if there was support from users too, so a very safe bet from their point of view.

Not sure what it is about this forum and anyone with a green font just being desperate to stop the users in their tracks whenever they make a useful suggestion, its like an attempt to out RSOC the RSOC for developing an "us/them" culture with the "grass roots" members
