Default question for ADMIN on selling stuff

rite

i just put an advert up for a set of wheels fro my mate who doesnt own a ford anymore and asked me if i could sell them for him, not a problem i thought

well its just been removed as im not allowed to sell these becuase hes not a member or contributor when he doesnt even have an interest in fords nor websites like this as he doesnt use the internet much anyhow

so ive been warned with a ban that if i advertise them again ill be banned which is a bit pathetic in my view considering ive been a member for a long time and always contributed to this website

so i want to know is if i buy the wheels for myself so there MINE am i allowed to sell these wheels now there mine as im a gold member and im selling my own items, but i have been informed iwill be banned for then selling my own items and i will have a reciept to say they are mine so proof of purchase

if imnot allowed tell me why im not allowed to sell my own stuff ive just bought off my mate because im not allowed to sell for him

if i do get banned i expect a full refund of my gold membership aswell and i wont return to this site as its just going further down hill

I was always under the impression it was allowed, providing the other person doesn't have internet access

Firstly let me move this to the correct section for you.

The advert was removed because you were selling for a friend... do you not think we have then heard the old "well i will buy them off my mate and sell them on here myself then" routine a thousand times before!!

I have made a judgement in fairness to our other members who pay to sell their OWN stuff on here that i dont believe you are going to buy these wheels off your mate just to sell on here.

I have therefore informed you that youre not to advertise these wheels on here again... of course should your mate wish to sign up on here as a goldmember he can advertise them himself.

You basically told me that you WERE going to list them again to which i told you that if you did the advert would be removed and if you continued to list them you faced a ban.

But had he advertised them with no indication as to whose wheels they were, nobody would be the wiser and the advert would not have been removed?

I'm not getting involved in the argument but just asking a valid question, I know the policys been in place for ages now but theres always going to be one person that gets round it...

Will people have to prove theyre the actual owner of parts before theyre allowed on sale? Not just in this case but all cases?

Yes he could have advertised them as his own but had he got found out... and believe me we get loads of reports of users selling on behalf of non members, then he could have faced a ban for that.

We also rely alot on trust that the items our members are selling are their own and in the main they are... theres always going to be some who slip under the radar though!!

no we're not going to start asking for proof of ownership.
