when you make a post, do you go to quick reply or advanced ? In advanced theres a drop down menu under the title 'thread subscription' (below submit reply), try changing that and see if you have any luck

already got notification enabled in the advanced part.
i recieve pm,s in the pop up box,but no notification of them either.
i,m gonna have a lay down.
