A little ambiguous to determine why they have been moved/deleted.

If it was sheer abuse toward someone or a for sale post in a thread then its understandable. You should get a PM advising why they have been removed though

I was under the impression that mods could not delete things, only move them?

Benni is correct here, though we shouldnt delete things as there is no way to reference back, we should always move to the sin bin, as per this case, if these posts have been hard deleted I cant go and check what was wrong with them, and Im not 100% if stu can either Im afraid.

Martin: Can you remember what the content of the posts/threads was?

I regularly get posts deleted, so when I questioned "Why?"... I got accused as making it up or proving it FPMSL Hoe can you prove something when it no longer exists

Stu was telling me only he can delete stuff...! so on that basis, I was making it up

And people wonder why the regulars rarely visit or post anymore....

taken from my post in the Politics room asking "who has deleted my posts" FPMSL (this will end up there too... as no one goes in there )

No. Learn how the site works. Because it was about problems or policy, it was moved to policy.

It cant be deleted as teh only person on here with the ower to delete is me, and I did not delete. it.

Please point out the post in question. here are all yours.

Mods cannot delete so they must be moved. Maybe to the CORRECT room?

as an example westy, I have deleted Bennis post #10 (which I have quoted in post 11)

we can delete things, we just should not delete, as when somebody asks (having obviously not received a PM advising why in this case) it makes it impossible for us to assess the situation, only the mod who did it can answer.

Well judging by this it would make sense to amend the moderators permissions so they are unable to delete. Permitting them only to move posts/topics to the sin bin.

I blame Benni for every problem on PassionFord. Ever problem! It's just easier

If Moderators can't delete, I wonder where my thread went? As for blaming me, feel free. I thrive off upsetting people.

Basically We as mods are NOT allowed to actually delete anything!!

All "deleted" posts SHOULD be moved into the Sin Bin so all mods and Admin can review it.

Stu has insisted that we put everything we "delete" into the Sin Bin and we get into trouble if we dont!!

Probably the sin bin, what was the thread title?
And we can delete things, its just that we SHOULDNT. Just like someone can post spam or illegal things, or porn in GD, they can, but they shouldn't

Is Benni running this site nowadays as it seems a bit of a mickey mouse operation.. I've got the site admin telling me only he can delete posts, then all his little workers saying they can lol

I to think I was going mad when I realised alot of my posts / threads dissapeared.. and it was the mods all a long like I said... poor show really

I think mark means we SHOULD NOT delete, though we still have the ability to. Though it does look like we are contradicting one another

Westy, I can find some of your posts/threads in the sin bin, but I dont know if that is everything though. The rule is simple for us: whether we have the ability to delete posts or not, we should ALWAYS move to the sin bin, so they can be reviewed if needs be. If some of yours have been DELETED (not moved) then I apologise for that, as there is no way for the mods to go and review what you have written.

im sure another mod has typed a reply at the same time as me explaining it differently though, and making us look stupid.

To clarify, Mods can only SOFT delete. (Simply says delete to them though)

This means any member of administration can refer to the topic and see those deleted posts which are clearly highlighted.

I would however, prefer them to be moved, as its far easier then for ALL the web team to access instead of people having to rely on me or IB admin to do it.

Westy.
I hope the above clarifies the situation for you, so the ball is back in your park. Proof please.

My apologies to everyone in this thread for arguing the opposite

Though we can remove it from view without putting it the sin bin, so kind of delete. Its alot easier in the bin then it can be reviewed at a click by any mod, rather than stu having to trawl through pages and pages to find one message

I do apologise for being wrong. However, Steve, a Moderator did agree with me. My thread that has 'Gone' was me asking for an old signature DaveEscos made. Wasn't life or death, so wasn't too bothered.

If a post / thread is "soft" deleted by a mod... as a user if I was asked to search for my so-called deleted posts, would they show????

I dont "think" so, but if i search a thread title that is in the bin it shows up, one of the reasons we should do this, and how I found Benni's aformentioned thread

Strange, unless a mod deleted them and is now frantically reinstating them
