not offended mate I respect your opinions as you are a honest chap, but as a mod I have to follow the rules and i will also try to help others as well,
to be honest I think the more traders on a site the better as then more people will use it.
Problem is mate when you have been caught out breaking or selling cars and run a garage theres not a lot us mods can do to help only advice you on how to become a trader on this site.
I wouldnt worry about mate,Iam alway open to any constuctive suggestions to help make the site better I will forward on to the mod team for there opinions, thats the only fair way to deal with any situation

So whats happening with the trade status prices?
Pete im gathering you have not renewed your trade status?
I myself have had allot of trouble with this whole scenerio, as I had many a reply/advert or even suggestion removed/deleted when it came to offering personnel parts or trying to sell my personnel possession/s even though im a paid up gold member ive not been allowed to advertise.
I was always told by yourself Pete that im not allowed to reply or indicate that im selling parts etc as I was a former registered trader on this site.
So whats changed now as thats exactly what you seem to be doing??

Not having a dig, as I couldnt care less, just a want a bit of clarity as to whats now allowed?

you wre another i treid to help and you didnt pay the fee you just wanted a free ride, and yes you had a lot of adverts slip the net,yes you were a paid trader of this site and like me when you give up that right you are not allowed to advertise anything for sale now Iam not advrtising anything for sale I have replied to a wanted advert,so untill someone comes up with a suggestion on this matter the rules do not say a wanted advert cannot be answered to,you could say the same about a non gold member posting a wanted advert or replying to one
as i have said read the rules follow them and you cant go wrong,if unsure ASK its simple really

i guess if you're not making a thread offering parts etc.. then it isn't exactly trading, but putting comments like "i've got 2" or anything that stipulates you have more than one of a particular item, i would say makes you more of a trader..

for example, if someone asks for something, you should be well within your right to say "yeah i've got one for X amount". letting people know you have multiples of something just doesn't seem right..

i think that may be where this all stems from.

this is how i see it

a gold member
1 any one should be able to answear a wanted
2 the wording dosnt realy matter
3 any one can place a wanted add
4 there should be a defenate line where you are ie if you are alowed to sell or breack 3 cors a year its january to january
5 if you aint a trader there should be a limit to the amount of for sale parts adds you can place a year
6 any one should be able to place adds in the non ford parts and other stuff for sale area

Pete I appreciated the fact you tried to help me and like I said not having a dig, have met you many times and had dealings with you which I always been pleased with.
The rules clearly state that as a gold member im allowed to advertise upto 4 of my personnel cars, which I quite simply was not allowed to do, quite simply because I feel that your or other mods perception of me was incorrct.
Then Only reason I had never renewed my trade status at the time is because I had left the trade and gone into property, hence made no sense to renew as I was not trading and all I ever advertised was my onw personnel stuff within the rules,,hardly a free ride.

However I would like to know what the latest fees are as im considering going back into the motor trade.

i think someone in authority needs to speak on this thread to clear up some things;

can ex traders who are still gold members still use their gold member quota-whatever it is?( x amount of cars and parts for sale).
is it an offence for ex traders to offer parts to people who have advertised on pf's wanted page?

how do the current paid up traders feel about it?

the first 2 are clearly a grey area that needs sorting out.......

No Martin you havent Wasted your money as you can sell items , just the same as any other bedroom trader who pays a £10 gold membership

this is the only reason i didnt pay again , why should i pay full money for the same benefits as a gold member

Tim that was my argument at the time, its was personal belongings or stuff that was left lying around and I wanted rid of, but quite simply adverts where removed with out explanation.

Martin it would seem so. Can you tell me what you had paid for 1 years trade status.

Just a side not, didnt Karl NMS have trouble with situation?

Why do you think i arnt a gold member ?? because you cant sell jack shit as an ex trader so why bother being a gold member , if i had the same benefits as a gold member then i would pay it

That's true Martin.

Infact you could pay £400+ to be able to post in a Traders section that might aswell have tumbleweed blowing through it for how often it gets posted in, or pay normal Gold Membership to be able to canvas anybody and everybody that shows any sign of wanting something that you can help with. Talk about circumventing the system.

I'd have thought the paid/verified trader thing should go some way towards giving Passionford members some kind of sureity as to who they are dealing with, but if any random person can join, pay the Gold membership and sell to anybody, then I wonder how long it will be before someone gets had.

I know there will always be an amount of trade go on behind the scenes by PM, but if the trading rules were as set-in-stone as they at first appear to be, then any evidence of this kind of trading going on could be dealt with by way of a forum ban, but since the rules are so wide open, it's having the piss taken out of it. Well, I'm on that bandwagon, or at least will be from now and once all the ex-traders are enjoying as lucrative a trade as they formally were, then what will be the point in becoming a trader atall?

What makes me laugh is that Pete was there waving the rule-book around when I was selling MY OWN BITS, despite being told repeatedly that I was allowed to, now this. Let's just change the forum name to PassionPete, since you seem to want it all your way.

I'm sorry to those that have put so much into this forum, but it is fundamentally flawed. I've tried to keep attacks of this nature to myself, but it's just not consistent.

Christian... P/F does work for me (I sell loads on here), so I don't reget paying my way and I will do so next year and so on because I don't take the piss. Bedroom traders may be leeches but that's no reason not to pay traders.

I reckon we need some hard and fast rules that put us all in the picture as to what a gold member can and can't do.

with respect there arnt many engine builders / tuners bedroom trading on here so its well worth you paying the trade fees , but for us breakers its a joke , there are the same people on here breaking cars week after week , breaking cars for there mates who dont have internet etc , bollocks ,
And people who have been warned then getting there wifes / birds selling parts for them

this has just got worse and worse over the last 12 months and nothing seems to get done about them , this is the ONLY reason i didnt renew as a trader

i would reccomend that ex traders who are gold members should be allowed to sell up to 4 cars per year.if said trader sells parts as a living then i would say 10 items per year should be allowed as a personal amount.

if those amounts are infringed then a ban should be introduced.

i suppose thats a start-does anyone want to add/disagree?

It'd be like me replying to this thread saying that I have a brand new set of Siemens 55lb Injectors for sale for £200. Although I can, because they belong to me personally, not APT.

I'm glad you make good money from it Martin, but with the rules being so hazy, I wonder for how much longer.

I have never had a problem with the rules that X traders cant sell ANYTHING at all , thats the rule and im happy to go along with them, same as the name changes for x traders , but then again why be a gold member x trader if you cant have the same rules as any gold member ??

That's my point. Pete has obviously swallowed the rule-book, I am just trying to understand how it can be right for anyone who is a Gold member to be able to sell goods/services on here providing he only does so by replying to other threads. It's 2 fingers up to the traders system if you ask me.
