I totally agree that certain threads should be posted in that relevant section as GD is a million % over-used for the wrong reasons.
We tried the two-forum way: cars/non-cars and that didn't work.
Gd is normally the busiest forum on here with good reason: it's the main forum that everyone will look on when they visit. If you need an answer to anything there's always someone who will have a reply.
Should the initial post the in the correct forum (providing there is a forum for it) then
1: you may be in a rush for an answer
2: it may take a day or two to get an answer
3: you may not get an answer at all
4: you may get someone in GD who knows but wouldn't necessarily look in the 'other' forum (as they don't have that car anymore or just because they know the answer and have seen the thread in GD)
5: you may get better answers overall from a variety of people whereas the correct forum answer may be slightly off
6: personally I would have missed some cool stuff and info due to it being posted in a forum I wouldn't normally visit
I do think that the moderation of moving topics is a good idea however.
If it was me I would start with all the "look at my car" topics that appear in GD when we do have an active/ busy Pics &Vids forum located just below the GD link.

Or perhaps as you are a trader you "think" you are better than everyone else.
