Hey guys, kinda new to this forum.
Recently bought a mk4 escort sport, as far as I'm aware it was a limited run made car and I haven't found much info on them.
Can anyone shed any light about them???

The "S" was introduced when the XR3i transitioned into the "90 Spec" to use up all the old trim. I think the following is the spec:
- 1.6 Carb engine
- Daytona style interior (red lines)
- XR3i style seats
- Black lower half
- XR3i pre 90spec spolier
- Black around the windows

Ahhh I see!
Well the old boy I got it from had it 22 years and was saying its got van rear drums, a different exhaust etc. He said someone from ford said this one coulda bin a ex 'demo' car.
All the pics are on my friends phone, ill b picking it up this week and will get the pics posted.

Ahhh I see!

Its red buddy. Very faded at the mo n gota do bits and bobs to it like the window and boot seals etc.
I'm guessing there fairly rare because haven't seen many on the net or heard much about them?!

My old Sport... was a strange thing, not all that quick but a bit of a giggle because it was so torquey. Mine cost Ł250 and was on its last legs - the key snapped in the ignition so for about 2 months I had to keep a pair of pliers in the door card so I could grip onto the end of the key that just stuck out, and start it like that!
Not a bad little thing for the price, though - basically a Mk4 XR3 by another name!

They are dead rare Jamie, much rarer than XR3i's or RST's.
Kinda kicking myself for scrapping mine now, but the white one i had was so rotten, the wiring for the rear lights was hanging out the wheelarch

Well from what iv seen this ones been looked after And quite clean, going to pick it up tonight so will get some pics tomorrow and get it on a lift at work n report back

10 n a half hours later. Arms were massive afterwards lol. still needs stone chips and what not sorting, but was happy with the end result

quick update... have just bought the weber xr2 carbs which was told is best to get rid of my current tdlm, just waiting to get hold of a choke cable then she'll be going on!
Have also fitted a 2.14 inch system from down pipe which now sounds lovely just waiting for a few more pennies and will be getting the mani and down pipe to match

nah just the carb at the mo, i will be getting one of my heads machined n ported with a kent cam. Holding off at the min as i might have accuired a turbo lump for it
