revs on a cougar 2.5 v6
my mates cougar is holding the revs when he dips the clutch about 3000 rmp he says then it drops after a few seconds any ideas?????

there is a few things to look for m8
first off check the the idle control valve as this can cause un even idle and hunting rev's
next on the list would be check the throttle and throttle cable which can cause throttle hang if to tight etc
might what to look into the imrc (inlet manifold runner control) tend to get very very hot where they are located there was a section on the topic in fast ford last month might want to check out www.fordmondeo.org for more info on how to remove it to stop heat soak
