Just notcied over weekend if I pull away or reverse slowely, when I stop I'm getting a strange knocking noice coming from the front of my car, sounded like a caliper sticking a little but I had them replaced along with hoses last year, just recently bought 2 new bottom arms for MOT which are ye to be fitted so hope that cures it.

Could it posibly be an engine mount??? only does it when am going real slow forward or in reverse

Also is it easy enough to replace a hand brake cable on Escort Si mines vertical at minute and MOT's next week

Any help would be much appriciated

 

handbrake is a doddle to change mate unless you have siezed bolts.

to check the enigne mount get a mate to sit in the car and rev it while you watch the engine if its moving all over the place its fooked............it will move a little


on the knocking could be ball joints or wishbones to check jack it up and rock the whell side to side if it knocks its the cv joint and rock it up and down if it knocks its the ball joints good luck mate

 

alos check drop links common fault you will feel a knocking from the 2 ball joints when you try to move the drop link up and down
