Always seem long really, but once you're moving its not so much of an issue. Partly because as a non-rider (no offence) you sit further back than you would when actually riding.

Oh and will you please hurry up and book a DAS. Weathers been quite nice recently And if you dont get ashift on all the local people will be filling up.

Hi

My thought when I first climbed on a sports-bike was "Woah, where are the foot-pegs? Oh, there they are, about six inches higher and further back than I expected!"

That feeling didn't last long though!

I've recently finished running-in my first new bike (link in sig, if I've done it right!?) and even taking it easy and going up to half-revs (7k) in each gear, it's still damn quick.... anything over about 7,500rpm and it really screams

Good luck with the training and test, and don't forget to have fun while you're doing it too!

absolutely love it, fast, comfortable until about 2 hours (im 5' 10", seems to fit me perfect), handles well, brakes seem good, mine are warped and im still quite slow so havent whacked em on yet!

i had an indicated 163 on it 2 weeks ago, so it can boogie as required

one thing im not overly keen on is the way the front eend looks slightly dated now compared to the new pointy nosed bikes.

easy to put the power down too, whack the throttle open in first and the wheel goes light but its predictable, only off the floor when ya catch bumps or if ya pulling on the bars etc.

Buy one, you wont be disappointed

first one i went on wa my stepdads old x plate triumph daytona 955. he keptit sensible for a while, but the first time he gave it some stick, the feeling was aweseom. think the fastest he pulled with me on (im 6'9" and about 17 stone ) was about 150. that seemed plenty fast.

had a very close call one day though. doing an overtaking manouver along a straight bit of B road on the way to buxton - wide open in 4th @ 100+ and we hit two bumps in the middle of the road, my feet jumped off the pegs and i fell backwards...... paul saw my feet either side of his head and pilled on the brakes which managed to stop me falling off. fuck knows how i didnt fall off though, looking back i must have someone on my side. i dont think id have come out of an accident like that either, seeing as there were cars all around us doing 60+!!!

needless to say never went on the bike again, but im tempted to pick up something small and have a go myself!

First time I sat on one thought "yeh this'd be ok" then riding an ER5 doing my lessons thought "this isn't too bad" then when I picked up my first ever road bike (R6) and pinned the throttle I thought "F**K what have i done!!!!"

But never looked back since...

Then you've got your first burnout, wheelie, stoppie etc etc......

Bikes, can't beat em'
