Default My biking history

I'm sat here bored and just thought i'd pass the time and share a few pics of my past and present bikes, i'm only 26 and have been riding about 4 year so i havent had a load of bikes but have had a few.

My first bike a 600 bandit that i had a few cosmetics done on.

I then got this k3 gsxr 600 after a year on the bandit

After year on that i px'd it for a z1000 which was a nice but not very well built bike imo

The z1000 didnt last very long maybe 6 months or so the that got px'd for a 5pw r1

After a ride out with me mate who peddle dashed the front of me bike that was then px'd for a newer 5vy r1

After a very minor off i fell out of love with the r1 and sold it after about 6 months and ended up with my current bike a k7 gsxr 1000

cheers Mark

Some nice bikes there - I'm bored as well so here is a little history of what I have owned...

**apart from the last bike these pics are not of the actual bikes I owned!**

1990 - FS1E 1977, on the road when I was 16, best thing is I still have it!

1993/4 - TZR125 with the power valve turned open to give full power (no power valve controller so it was gutless under 7rpm!lol).

1994 - FZR600, ex race bike with tuned engine including full carbon Termignoni exhaust. After 9 months and 10 points I had to sell it! Really wished I had kept it and thrown it in the back of the garage!

1999 - Brand new T reg R1 in blue. Fooking quick bike back in '99. Did 5000 miles riding it like I stole it within a year of ownership. Sold it before I crashed it and decided to give up riding bikes!

2008/2009 - Decided to give bikes another go. Buying a modern bike seemed too easy plus most are too fast for the road anyway. Decided retro two stroke was the way forward and got hold of a 24 year old RG500 - 500cc square four two stroke. Only the older bikers will know what this bike is and the rep that goes with it! Mine is 'only' running 100bhp at the rear wheel until I get back into the groove and then it will be taken up to 125Bhp+. Front and back end is off a k3/k4 gsxr600/750. These pics are of mine, excuse the missing side panels/bellypan and and the gsxr swingarm is not yet fitted but the wider rear wheel is:

na it was an 04 mate i was mega pissed of tbh as it cost me a fucking fortune and i wasnt my fault, i lost a weeks money as i was due to go to oz working and got delayed cause i was sore then had to spend 200 on bits and obviously lost money from what i paid and what i sold it for, but suppose thats what happens when stupid council blokes put up road closed signs and bariers up ont he exit of a blind bend with no warning signs. I'd love to know who put the signs up cause i'd punch there fucking face in, the bobby nearly got it aswell as he was saying i was going to fast and there was nothing wrong with the signs, when i went to pick me bike up later on with me mates the landlord of the pub thats on the bend said another 4 bikers came off and that was after i told the stupid bobby to move the signs back which he did reluctantly. Another case of motorbikes going to fast when they werent lol, tbh i'm lucky as i was only doing 60 and would normally be exiting the corner about 120 130 lol

Cheers - the FZR is still on the road according to ASKMID and if I ever am lucky to see it for sale I will have it back!

The RG500 is always going to look rough as I'm never going to spend money on decent panels and/or having it painted. Everything else will be top notch - I could have bought a cossie engine for the money it cost me to have the engine rebuilt and to fit a proper gearbox!lol

In the next couple of weeks the GSXR swingarm will be fitted along with an Ohlins (or equivalent) rear shock. Then later on the pipes will be changed along with some more tuning work to raise the power.

Some nice bikes there I finally got round to cleaning and taking some pics of me track bike also, hopefully get some track days in next year when the weather gets a bit better. Anyway its a gsxr 600 srad which is basically standard apart from the bodywork -1 +2 gearing and full akrapovic race system, and the usual brake upgrades.

Ye was a while ago now that i got me k3 gsxr, cant even remember when year it was tbh lol. Think it might have been 4 years ago?

I get bored easily though so change quiet often but think i'll keep the k7 for a while but only because i'm aving for a house now and dont want to dent the house fund.

it was a good bike in its own way but just not a sports bike, i got rid of the gsxr600 and got the z1000 cause i wanted a sit up bike and the z1000 was about the best looking naked on the market at the time imo. It had massive amunts of love down grunt but after a bit of trying to peddle it along and realising it just didnt go round corners as confidently as a sports bike it got px'd for the 5pw r1, that and the fact i only popped over the dealers to pick up some cush drive rubbers for the track bike and bought the r1 on a whim lol

lived in cyprus for 3 and half years and was running about on all sorts from 50cc suzuki landies and yamaha chappies to drz 450e and big cruiser type bikes. didnt really start on sports bikes till i got back to england
