How times change in 10 years
Was chuckling to myself wrt my previous post asking about commuter tyres, and got me thinking of where I was 10 years ago in the bike scheme of things....
1999
No wife
No Mortgage
No Kids
Brand new red/white and black R1 - Weekend toy dry use only
Best buys-
Genuine Yamaha racing technology Exhaust (from the states)
Double bubble screen (latest thing in 99')
Dainese tatoo leathers, matching boots and gloves and worn sliders
2009
Wife
Mortgage
Kid
10 year old fazer 600 - Purely commuter - All year round
Best buys-
Touring screen (tallest one available)
Givi Top Box (got to put my lunch somewhere)
Oxford heated Grips (wouldn't be without them)
Oh how times change
Anyone else gone backwards like me????
Regards
Leigh

Testing the future
10 years ago i didn't have a licence or any interest in bikes. that only started in 2002.
re commuting though, i have also been considering looking at a deauville as my next commuter machine as the shaft drive would be a bonus and the panniers would be useful.
on the other hand, i am well into track days and get my knee down at every opportunity

Had the same Gixxer for just over 11 years now, so no change for me....which I suppose means Ive gone backwards as when I got it, it was getting on alittle being 9yr old but was still accepted as being a fairly modernish bike. Now when I go to bike meets etc I get such comments as 'you dont see many like this anymore'
