Best sticky tyre choice for the road
I have pirelli corsa 3 tyres on my bike just now and they are good, but i here alot of good stuff about the michelin pilot power 2ct`s
Has anybody tried both?
Whats everyones opinion on the best sticky tyre for the road?
Forget commute or life expectancy just the overall stickyest tyre for the road
cheers

a few of me mates have the 2ct's and rate them on there r6's. I have an r1 with diablo corsas on and have just ordered another set casue i find them cracking and have loads of confidence in them, they wont last as long as the 2ct's though as i've just smashed the rear to bits in less then 1k miles on a half worn tyre

It depends how you ride and not solely on the tyre, if you can keep enough heat in them something like the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa would be fantastic, although not for the wet as theyre basically a Toyo R888 style tyre for your bike.
Im going for the tyres Alps has, Pirelli Diablo Corsas. I used to have the normal Diablos on my last bike and they were excellent.

There going on my R6, the corsa 3 gets a good write up as its 3 compounds but i was wondering if theres anything just one soft compound all round
My understanding was corsa 3`s were as good as you can get but other people have other opinions and therefore i just wanted an all round comment on the best sticky in there veiw
£140 for a pair sounds good mark, im sure my rear was £150 then 6 weeks later thought i need a front and that was £90

I aint had them fitted yet as they havent turned up yet, i'll probably get them put on at c&s in middlesbrough. Ye 140 for the pair is a good price i nearly bought 2 sets tbh as i cant see my rear lasting to long. I was going to go for the corsa 3 but i didnt want to risk them not being as good as the ones i have on.
The problem with choosing tires is its all personal preference and confidence in your tires is esential on a bike as if you dont trust them you dont lean and if you dont lean you end up in a bush lol

i had a corsa 3 on the rear and a corsa on my old bike and loved it, i have just put the 2ct's on my new bike and give me so much confidence and will deff be getting them again. get what you fill confident with mate, if you like the corsa 3's then stick with them.

stick with a tyre for the road mate. Dont bother with the sticky supercorsas or rensports etc.
I use racetecs on the track but they go off after about 8 heat cycles and lose there grip . Do you realy think you need stickier tyres? If you can push a road tyre to the limit then i would slow down or get your ass on track.

There only sticky when there hot.
Road tyres are designed to perform at there best at lower temperatures than the track tyres so unless you can get them hot they wont have as much grip as your road tyre .
Probably best off looking on the net for tyre reveiws as i idoubt anyone will have tried them all.
Are you interested in a de cat manifold mate? I will have one knocked up by the end of next week. Basicaly its the standard manifold with the cat and silencer replaced with straight pipe . Sounds awesome.

I love Metzler Ractechs K2/K1..I can put up with the cold weather problems but i ride very hard and enjoy the feeling. Been great on track days and i get a set for 60 quid off the supersport lads...Well happy

Tyres are personal choice. You cant say ones better/stickier than the other because it depends how you ride. As said though, for the road you ideally need a tyre that does not need to stay hot to work well. Also, tyre shapes are very different so you need to find a trye that suits your riding style.
For example, PP's are shaped more like a 'V', which tips in quicker and more agressively and will perform better on track. A bridgestone 016 for example is more like a 'U' so more progressive and smoother, and also more predictable so suited better for road use in my opinion. I prefer the 016's and cant fault them at all for the road to be honest. Gets up to temperature well and can last me 2000-2200 miles on the road.

I've recently had the Pirelli Diablo Corsa's fitted to my Ducati 748, not done many mile son them yet but im liking them so far, had the older Pirelli Diablo on my GSXR 600 SRAD and loved them, so im predicting the Corsa's are going to be more of the same
