I have just sold 3 plastic storage boxes of track, two controllers two cars and a power pack for Ł40. The buyer even tried to knock me down, tight arse. Tried to tell him my childhood has been sold for Ł40 and he wanted to lower it.

My mates had a big 4 bed house share at uni and we started with scalextric but got bored of it so we floored out the attic and installed a radio control car track in it and raced mini mardaves around it.

Was a proper nerds paradise.
I even wrote some crude computer software to allow us to design different track layouts based on where the access harch was and where the beams were etc.

Sadly no pictures though as was 20 years ago and didnt have such things as digital cameras etc at the time.

I upped the voltage on mine by adding a couple of battiers to the battery pack (which needed clearance on the bodyshell, lol) and fitted a fancy motor I had spare from an off road 1/10 buggy. Was literally about twice as quick afterwards, but just span off everywhere, was far too much power for an attic track, lol

me, my brother and a couple of freinds put our scalectics together and made the catyluna gp circuit in my parents front room while they where on holiday, it was 4lanes wide and the back stright was 13 track sections long,
we had to put extra powersupplies on the track to stop the cars slowing down at the extreamitys.

we use ninco or fly cars as they where far faster than the scalectric cars of the day.

i will try and find some pictures, but as mentioned above this was befor the days of digital camreas so i'll have to scan them.

I sold all of mine about 6 years ago. My 1st set was mighty metro & I just build up from there with extra track & cars. Had 2 metros, 2 Escort Cosworths, XJ220 Jag & a BMW E36.

If I had the space, I would have a massive set permanently down.

Scalextric, great toy to play with.
Still got 2 sets from when I was younger.
Recently bought Sierra Cosworth set and Escort Cosworth set.
When my 6 year old daughter saw it she wanted to play.
Such fun to be had

We had the one with stock cars "Fender bender" and "Stick Shifter" when we were kids.

I think they were one of the first with swivelling brushes and could get them sideways.

(Google images)

Fucking dog used to chase the cars, bite them and take them off the track!
