Saw those Escort bits on E-Bay.

How hard are the 3 door Cossie (minichamps) to get apart. I fancy doing a yellow one but am unsure about spending £30 on a model to rip it to bits.

Quite fancy doing an RS1600i soft top for a giggle as well

pretty straight forward mate tbh couple of screws underneath you first need to remove the centres of the wheels then unscrew them take them off and under them in the arches there is screws there is 2 at the rear underneath under the petrol tank and opposite on the other side also there is a few in the engine itself to release it from the shell then the rest just unclips mate pretty easy you take your time and you will be fine mate btw is that your car in your sig if so good choice of wheels for your s2 lol


and the soft top rs1600i sounds awesome

Yes the car in my sig is my own S2. The wheels are a bit square now as I don't think they were intended for the track abuse I've given them. Some Compomotives are on teh ever growing shopping list.

Will get myself a cabby on payday then. Not sure what to do about the rims though. Escort Cossie ones might work quite well. Will have to see what's on E-bay at the end of the month

need some advice
every time i use masking tape on models to tape up area's i dont want paint on and when i spray and then i take of the masking tape the bloody paint is under the tape.
is there anyway to stop this so i can get a crisp straight lines.

just doing mine but i have change the interior to a xr3, dashboard, seats, door-cards and the bottom trim and the arch trims.
will post up pics when it is finish,i dont have the bonnet & door stripes

hi mate, ive had the same problem in the past and its ruined a lot of good paintjobs but ive found a way to do it perfect.
get some tamiya model tape (its on ebay or in models shops for about £3.50) and some cheap plumbers tape (the black rubbery stuff)

use the tamiya tape for the edges, gives a lovely clean crisp line especially around window seals etc, and the rubber tape (if the adhesive is strong, stick it on ur trousers or something so its not quite as sticky) to blank out large areas.

aslo if the paintwork is smooth as possible before masking it helps, sometimes rough areas peel off pretty easy

Finished my latest project yesterday,Mark 3 Escort XR3 track/show car.I've done a few what i believe to be 'new ' ideas.
Spec is-
RS1600i style decals-cross tape on head & spot lights-fuel cap on side window-cossie rims in gunmetal-tailpipe protector on rear valance-name tags on rear windows-Focus wrc mirrors-stripped out interior with single bucket seat & harness-alloy heel pad-Focus wrc sequential gear lever-carpeted boot-fuel tank on floor with fuel line to engine bay & the filler pipe to side window-fire extinguisher-yellow oil & fluid bottle caps-under bonnet mirror-and my fav part,fully detailed underbody with full stainless straight through exhaust system complete with full heat wrap any comments welcome

Finished & all back together.

Here it is, my Focus ST in Sea Grey. Also painted the exhaust tips silver.





It is an replica of my Focus ST, even down to the colour-coded light surrounds.

Realy please with the way the rear lights have turned out. Ive not tinted the plastic, just painted the body underneath grey rather than silver.

I will be removing the Ford stickers as I think their too large for the car.

Managed to get hold hold of a transit today,i did'nt realise the rear doors & bonnet don't open but i've seen one on here with an open bonnet & there was one on ebay recently showing rear doors open,any ideas how do this?

cut the panels open with a craft knife or similar and glue hinges on from an old diecast

Im selling 99% of my 1:18 collection and all spare parts to go with them as im going to stop and collect 1:24 kits. jap and ford kits mainly....
