small update on the silver wrc escos

engine bay cut out ready for red top yb cossie engine also painted boost hoses blue and instailing cone filter! Also going for full wrc roll cage just alittle few mods to get it to fit.

i also have a spare 1/18 escos road going style shell so im toying with idear of doing a model of martins escort! only thing is i would need to get all the decals i.e 'reyland' primary designs' etc etc all in 1/18 scale!

does anyone know where i could gets these decals done?? if i can get them done i would go for it

that looks wiked m8
do you make ur own cages ?
and any place that does vynls for cars can make the stickers as they just scale them down !

nah i dont make the cages as yet just pinch them from other models and then adapt

regarding the decals for them to get correct font etc would me supplying pics of the logos be enough?

ah right got any more cages as im dyin for one but tried to make one and failed . . miserably lol

the pics should be enough and the actual sizes would be needed

eg the reyland down the side

1500mm long by 250 mm wide

they would prob need this info

no they were just a quess at the actual size on martins car
you would prob need real sizes so the person making the stickers new how much to de-scale them by !

well started already lol cut out bumper from road model version just needs filling etc and next will start to cut out bumper from the wrc model

well i used a heatgun to remove stickers from my bmx so im sure it wud work on the model

Have you considered the Andrew Gallacher Focus? Would look great next to Martins Escort.

heres my escort cosworth fitted with better cosworth engine & detailed chassie.







just needs a few bits putting on now & need to cut the spare wheel well of & get a diff petrol tank.

had a practice with spare shell i had,haven't managed to get any orange spay yet soon as i do will do the top part but im sure you get the idear lol

deffo think need to get a darker shade of grey as one i used looks we bit too light!

small update on my reyland escos replica-just a quick mock up on a spare shell i have to use a practice,bought a darker shade of grey today as one i 1st used came out to light will paint that bit tomorrow and see how it compares.

yeah i know what ur saying,this was just a quick mock up so could get idear how it looked with all colours together will be taking my time when i paint the proper shell coz only got one chane to get it right.

painted the grey stripe in a darker more metalic grey again and this time looks much better

getting there slowly lol need a more oranger orange lol but now i know what the proper colours are that are on martins car shouldnt have a problem getting a match.

anyone got tips of how best way to remove the stickers?
If it is a diecast body then use nail polish remover and cotton buds, make sure it is acetone based with added vitamins. ( don't ask me why it just works better and I have many years experience of stripping diecasts for conversions)

If it is a resin based body then T-cut is the best method but gently does it or you will remove the base layer of paint as well, as it is only a few microns thick.
