sorry but with a history like that how can you not expect to get anally raped for insurance?? really??

You have a simple choice. Cough up sensibly and reasonably very high premiums or stop driving until your license is clean!!

Im surprise these days anyone will qoute you

Sorry I've never not expected to pay massive amounts of money for the car insurance and I wasn't complaining on doing so either.. As the original question I was merely asking if anyone else with less than favorable histories had found any decent companies.

i dont think you will get it any cheaper i am suprised you got a quote at all i had a dr10 and 2 bans for speeding 1 doing 142 and 1 doing 156, 11 years ago i had to wait for five years until the speeding bans had come off before any company would go near me but get the first year out of the way and the costs drop a hell of a lot just pay the high amounts for the first year and next yeat it will be halve what it is now or this is what happened to me

Cheers Jay, yeah I'm just shitting it as I got the £1,800 current policy as a heavily reduced price originally would have been £2,300 it was on my old MG ZR 1.8 but I swapped mid policy to the Focus at no extra cost to me minus admin fee however the policy runs out in September and I'm not rating my chances of getting the same or cheaper price next renewal - even with 1ncd which I didn't have previously.

have you tried AB Insurance Factory? (I think thats the name of it) Not sure on the phone number tho. Its a insurance broker based in Birmingham, specializing in young drivers with points and taxi drivers. I had a policy with them a few years ago when i had a IN10 on my licence. was driving a mk4 xr3i at the time, think i was paying £1300ish. was a couple of years ago mind. not even sure if the company is still around, might be worth doing abit of a search for them tho.

I used The Insurance Factory in Birmingham a good few years ago when I was young and had points on my license. They seemd to be much cheaper than the others. That was in the days before confused.com tho so I only had a few other quotes to compare against...
