Provisional insurance
Might be a silly Q but if you get insured on a car before you've passed your test ie , on provisionals , once you've passed your test do you need to reapply for insurance (ie full uk license expeNsive crap)?

Yes pretty much spot on. You take out a policy on a provisional license then when you've passed you need to call them up to inform them you have a full license.
Be warned though check what the price will be as a full license holder before you agree the quote as in alot of case's the provisional license quote will be much cheaper, then when you obtain your full license they will end up hitting you with a massive raise in your premuim.
