You Will always be able to get insurance, Just depends how much you are willing to pay...

Its funny because all my mates had "Good" cars at 17, 1.8 escot GTi's, 2.0 Cav Sri's etc insured in there mums name.... I had a 1.6 escort, In my name...

Now Im driving a m3 with 3 yrs ncb they are all driving 1.6's because they cant afford to insure anything, due to being insured under there mums name!

Makes you realise it was worthwhile having a better car to insure to start with!

As Ginge says above most do not cover but some will, is it really worth giving this advice and then this guy gets caught out with out insurance
I have worked in the industry for over 10 years and have yet to find a company worth insuring with that will cover it if it isn't insured elsewhere......
Chances are if he did find a company they would be so crap that they would try to get out of a claim on other technicalities anyway.

I'm 24 with 1 year NCB to put on the cossie (more on my other policy for daily driver) and it cost me £892 fully comp, all mods declared with agreed value etc. Where were those prices from??

Cossies are "specialist" cars, so go to insurers that specialise in this sort of risk to get a reasonable quote.
