Simon,
Tims car made peak power under 6000rpm and this is incorrect. The only way that tims car can make peak power this low is if either the ECU is causing ignition protection through high ACT/ECT's or something is amisss with the rollers.
Tim's engine is now 5 years old and has been mapped and tested so many times that its a known quantity. As such when the results from a RR are dramatically different to what is 100% known, there is obviously an answer to why...........

Also Tim wasnt running full boost from what I heard. Were you aware of this?
Cars can develop Faults, seems a bit off to go straight in and say the rollers are wrong if you werent there and havent checked the car. I'm not saying Tims car is broken or nakered. Just saying that you didnt see either of them today, rollers or car, so its not fair to make that assumption.

Well done to all.
any big power 4x4's? Did Oli run?
(IF true)
Surely on a day like today ACT's should not of been a problem, cant think of results if held in 28oC ambients.

Cheers Shings Goes well doesn't she
Just got back....Everyone was impressed with Linsay's car, went really well. Well done Lins & all involved
Some really nice cars there today, shame we couldn't stay longer.
Thanks Paul
Is all down to Karl and Oli - but the car would not have been ready at all if it wasn't for Dingo - BIG UP DING
Was really pleased with 231bhp @16psi
Wasn't sure how it was gonna turn out, as the car has not been touched after fitting the new GRS cooler and on the way down it felt like the boost was tiling off a little early - think it was just me being paranoid
Would like to say Karl has warned me before about rolling roading the car on previous occasions
Good to meet some new people
WELL DONE TONY ON A SMOOTH RUNNING DAY

Had a good day, plenty of nice cars both on and off the rollers, chatted to a few peeps off here which was all good too.
Not having a dig at Tony or anyone else but in my opinion the organising was a little pants IMO but saying that I agree that its not gonna be easy arranging 40 odd cars all to run in one day.
I did decide in the end not to run my car (black NMS S2) after having a quick chat to Karl on the phone mainly due to the poor cooling facilites.
This was ultimatly my choice as I didnt want to risk any kind of unnessessary damage to my recently built car.
Even though I would have loved to come home with a nice power graph I thought it best to give it miss this time. Plus i'm more than happy with the car's power as it feels fantastic on road, which is where it counts (cheers Karl )
Cheers

karl, check this one out, a 2.2kW motor is only 100th of what's needed

sorry christian although your ACT sensor did not show more than 40, doesn't mean that the air was not hotter and therefore less dense. the ACT sensor has a certain thermal inertia that may not have been overcome in the time it takes to do a power run.

The fact is, that fan is MANY MANY times overkill for what is required to do a Power-run. Awesome it is, necessary it isn't.
As for my ACT's, they compare to what I saw on the road. Thats all that's required is it not? My ACT's at SCA were slighly higher infact.

Surely if the size of the fan was that much of a problem then they (PE) would have changed it by now would they not
and as Christian has said i was very skeptical when i saw it

Hi guys, thanks to all of you who turned up today, seemed like a very good atmosphere, as with all rolling road days the odd few are sometimes dissapointed with the figures, cant be helped really.
Karl, you seem to be a little worried about cooling today on some of the cars, where possible, intake air temps and coolant temps were monitored and in the case of the grey RS turbo i was advised to turn on the water injection by the owner if the ACT's went above 50 degrees C, they never went above 35 during the 3 short dyno pulls we did for every car, a couple of cars have reportedly made the power "early", this may be due to rpm scaling on the dyno software, it will not effect the power and torque figures, i would urge all people to make sure than their dyno graphs from us all cross at 5200 rpm, this will insure power and torque figures are correct.
again, thanks to everyone who showed today, i hope you all had a safe journey home.

also, surely the outlet size/area of the fan denotes how concentrated the air coming out will be, we have never had cooling issues even when live mapping unless its august, we then use two of the same fan.

i had a good day out altho it was a fair wait which is understandable.
a big up to tony and to Matt and the rest of the PE crew
I got 380 on one run and 385lbs torque but they did say they could hear "a crack of det on peak boost" which is a bit as there were no det cans in sight
pe chris - why do the 2wd rollers max out at 280bhp at the wheels? Is there anything in the pipeline to correct this?
Not an easy day to organise but a big well done to all involved and the bacon sarnies well
