Default R.I.P Doug Stirling's car 30/1/06  PICS INCLUDED

Doug Stirling's car is is dead

I'm sorry to announce that as of 30/1/06 Doug's car is off the road for ever. The car is being broken, all parts will be in the parts for sale section soon. If you want any bits PM me not Doug, as you can imagine he is gutted about this, first come first served. There are some choice bits.

Basically it would cost too much to put the car back on the road ever again

Pics:

Sticker placed on Doug's windscreen has the best advice

Pic of Doug's car (did i forget to mention I was talking about his Mk1 Mondy runabout? )

Emissions failed, a lot.

2 page fail sheet from the MOT centre, and they didn't even find the rear wiper blade which was missing most of the rubber - think the MOT man had lost the will to live after typing this lot out

And I did the above just the night before the MOT test thinking the Mondy was in as good order as Doug keeps his Cossies (which is very good).

Anyway, as stated, if you want any bits keep an eye on the parts for sale board!!

RIP The Mondy / Box on wheels / A to B runabout

Simon

The most sensible car I ever purchased.

Bought it two years ago for just Ł 250.............Has the 2 litre Zetec engine.......Ghia model with air con, leather, heated seats/mirrors...etc.

Looking back at the prevoius two MOT's: Feb 2004 = 114 k miles......then Feb 2005 = 122 k miles......I think it's showing 135 k miles now - so got me moneys worth

Could leave it parked up ANYWHERE without having to worry about it getting damaged/stolen......Even coming back to it DAYS later it would still be there and start on the key - no fuss or drama........gonna miss her

Deffo going to get another one ASAP

I only just noticed that speedo

In two years of owning it I dont think I EVER did more than 100 MPH in the damn thing Simon

The last thing I said to him at Weston when he offered get it to the mot for me on Monday is "look after it as if it was your own car"

Im just surprised he didnt fit a flamer kit to cruise round with when you told him to treat it like his own car

Tempted.......but that really narrows down the chances of me finding a good one: Estate/Air Con/not white.........but with LPG conversion
