Hi mate
my boss at work drive a Seat Cupra 1.8 20V Turbo.
Can you do anything with these?
He was saying u can go to a seat dealer and they will "derestrict" it by unticking a "restricted" box in the ecu settings, but can put a 100 mile limit on it or something?
Any ideas on this, he asked if I knew anyone who does these type of cars and I know you do a few different makes/models so thought Id ask!
What kind of power increases per £ are available for this model?
Thanks

For roughly £500 you can get a Cupra 'Revo'd' with a switchable remap. Gain is about 50bhp.
Have a read on http://www.seatcupra.net

Don't know why he lied about, but it isnt true. With revo you can put it inro valet mode to stop garage's etc taking for an extended testdrive so to speak.
Wouldnt use revo myself.
Tbh if he want's it remapping / chipping there are that many company's that can do it on these engine's its hard to choose. You will alway's get people who prefer one company's offerings to another's.
I've got http://www.custom-code.co.uk/ on mine.
But there is also
http://www.awesome-gti.com/
http://www.jabbasport.com/
http://www.vag-tuner.com/
http://www.upsolute.com/eng/index.html
Best to ask on the various seat forum's vw forums if stu cant sort what you want out, though im sure he can.

Basically, from what I understand, it works in a two stage boost sort of scenario. For acertain amount of time the car is "chipped / de-restricted" and let's you have the full power of the car. After this certain point, it returns to normal. The delearships flog this as an optional extra at time of sale. I know this as my m8 Andy bought a Seat Leon Cupra - R. And also the boy's on the seat forum (posted above) confirmed it. I didn't really delve too much into it, but my m8 did.
I'm sure Stu can do something with the car, or any of the other links aforementioned will help

Thats revo, basically you get a free 5hr trial program but its not the full version of the software, you get that when you pay for it. After 5hr's the car is supposed to return to standard but doesnt alway's and i have read of cars being slower than before they had the trial.
Worth a read if anyone can be bothered

Since when was it a pre-requisite of running a tuning business that you be on call 24 hours a day to answer someone's questions on the internet?
How about you contact him on MSN and then get the arse when he doesn't reply within 30 seconds.......... oh wait, you've already done that.
Alternatively, you could contact him via email, or via the telephone like every other person in the world can fuckin manage.

Morning peeps, if you ever want to know about a chip with short notice, please feel free to use my online chip database:
http://www.motorsport-developments.c...data/index.php
Since you dont mention exactly which Cupra you wish to modify, i will leave you with the database for the moment. The database only lists what we call "Off the shelf" software, a live map will release more in almost all cases.
