Default 2wd v 4x4 cossie head quicky,,,

other than the obvious turbo hanger mount - is a 2wd head any different than a 4x4 head...? also will a t34 fit on a 4x4 manifold on a 2wd head - ie is there enough space between the turbo and the hanger casting..?

ive foudn a good cheap 2wd head and need to know if should buy it..?

It should fit I've done it to my car but fitted a 2wd manifold - bear in mind it drops the compression on std 4x4 pistons.

2wd heads have slight differences but nothing that will cause any issue. The big two visual differences are the turbo hanger bracket and open exhaust side water jacket on the head face. In addition the 2wd head does not have the oil feed union for the turbo, so you will need to take the oil feed from the side of the block.

Also bare in mind that if the head is an 86 HF 6090AA with two bolt stat housing then I recommend you either avoid this head or send it to me for correct modification as there is an issue with one of the water channels that requires welding.

I run the late 2wd head with the 3 bolt stat housing with no problems at all,i am running 4x4 thermo housing etc....and it reduces the c/r slightly(bonus imo)....
