340s and 360s are RWD.

Light too, 340s are about a ton when stripped

Rear mounted gearbox.

Meant to handle superb for the suspension spec.

740Turbo engines can go in a 360 without too much hastle as the 2litre 360 uses basically the same block.

340s are better really due to much lighter engines so less chance of understeer.

That car is a 340 and has a bog standard 1.7 in it.

Best thing about 340s is the 1.4 and 1.7 is the same engine renault and volvo both use, so the 440turbo and the renault 5 GT Turbo engines both fit with little work, though more work to make the manifolds fit in the bay properly.
Loads of room, just facing the wrong places once fitted longditudley.

I fancy doing a GTT powered 340 myself.

What sort of money would you be looking at to build one?

Me personally, umm, 2.5grand or so inc the suspension and transmission work to a spec id be happy with, and a set of rims.
But thats 90% DIY and im good with GTT engines, thatd be well over 200bhp mind!

The one in the vid is bog standard 1.7 non turbo and chopped standard springs, and a welded diff.
Properly low budget job and lovely car.

Dont need a big spec and big power to have an awesome car.

Not mine, but lived at mine for months now. Ace car, but like all rollas IMO, grossly underpowered. Needs a SX engine

How much? Tons, 5k+ bearing in mind its spec and the fact its had tons and tons of resto work to get rid of the rust.
As they classics they cost way more than they are worth if all you care about is fun and not what your having fun in.

Yeah. Totally understand what you mean. If I actually get a drift car i'm not really bother what it looks like as like you said, i've never drifted before and am gonna lose it. and if i dont im not trying hard enough. problem is round here there never seems to be anything that fits the bill for sale. that and the fact that i dont know what im looking for in say an old s13 or any other rwd car for that matter.
