Default FAO: Stu, Porkie, anyone, lol - Diets... Help, lol...

Lee's (Porkie's) recent success with losing weight has prompted me to do something about my state aswell - I'm 6ft 2in, but weigh about 15-15.5stone Not overy fat, but it would be nice to see the buttons on my jeans as I do em up

But! I have no willpower, think that sandwiches are the best thing ever invented, and in 2 weeks will be going back to working on the road again, which makes it difficult to keep to specific diets - as 90% of the places I am able to stop and grab something to eat (don't get time for sit down lunch breaks) will be sandwiches, rolls, KFC, MacDee's, Burgerking etc...

So whats a fairly easy diet to stick to for my type of life? Coming home and cooking fresh meat with veg/salad that sort of thing isn't a problem as such - pop into Tesco's on the way home and get a couple chicken breasts or something..... But it's out on the road during the day thats the issue... Can I eat kebab meat?

Whats the "yes" and "no" of food groups? IE, no bread, no potatoes, etc, plenty of meat, that sort of thing... I don't know what TYPE of meat I can have, what way I can and can't cook it....

I don't have time (or money to be fair) to do the gyms, so my exercise will mostly be during the day at work (fitting glass into cars is pretty phsyical so I'll do plenty of walking and lifting etc), and what I'd like to do is shed a couple of stone so I look better and then start swimming again, on my days off I used to go to the local pool and take in a couple of hours, and I miss that. But I'm too self concious now, and also, nowhere near fit enough to do enough that it makes the difference, as I get knackered too quickly

Another thing that has prompted me in this is last week, a girl I used to go to school with (who is a year younger than me at 23) went on holiday last month to Austrailia - and fooking DIED of a heart attack She was 23, didn't drink, didn't smoke, played a lot of sports (captain of the hockey team her whole way thru school, got half a dozen torphies for swimming and stuff). I smoke way too much, not too bad with drinking (max 3 pints a week unless out at a do or something) but do no exercise and my heart and arteries are probably fucked

So anyone help me?

yeah we do and its fair busy aswell...

there's already a fair few posts about diets and training in there!!
although everyone with good advice to give is called paul

fruit fits into lunch box easy enough as do muller lights which you can drink from the tub. cut out sugarry drinks. change your sandwiches to wholemeal, granary or even tortilla wraps.

plenty of things just gotta open up your imagination on food a bit!

Cool I will browse and put a post up in there - I didn't even know we HAD that forum

I was under the impression tho that I should cut out bread n that stuff all together as it's mostly carbs n fibre? And I'm supposed to drop carbs in order to loose weight?

I'm worried if I do tho, I'll get tired a lot (lack of carbs to be burned = los of energy) which is no good for my work....

I'm off down Tesco now for some chicken breasts, gonna do a couple of them with some bacon (grilled, not fried) and some salad - knowing me tho this will only last a couple of days and I'll be back on sarnies and burgers before you know it
