I guess this is an insurance issue Karl.
Yes its wrong not to tell them of the change and yes it wont be insured if anything happens, but people do it.

Hi im based in Manchester. I would buy a xr2i but there all either to far to travel or there all rusty wrecks so fought I would buy a lower spec mk3 fiesta and have a project at the same time. No way my insurance will know about all the changes to my project. Thats another thing for something like a project who would be the best insurance broker?

Not personally.
I use specialist rally insurers, but I imagine that finding insurance for a 1.6 fiesta shouldn't be too difficult if the log book says its a 1.6 too

Right. Just fought for some reason it wonder be cheaper if I went with insurer that understands project cars and that. This will be a legitimate project NUTS RuS.
