not convinced that you can't use a 4x4 exhaust on a 2wd.

the downpipes are different length i believe, but i suppose that you will be using the 4x4 exhaust manifold anyway, so you'll want the 4x4 downpipe.

what make of exhaust is it? i've got a power engineering stainless 2wd exhaust system that i would probably swap with you.

you need 2wd engine mounts and alloy arms that bolt to the block, but they're the same as any pinto engined sierra.

as for all things driven by front belts, why can't you keep the 4x4 stuff with poly-vee belt?

A: yeap still using the 4wd manifold

what make of exhaust is it?

A:not sure on the make mate i cant find any stamps etc its got a number on a white sticker FB**** i cant remember now i will have to pop up me garage to take some pics(it seems to have really shiny exhaust boxes not just dull silver )

i've got a power engineering stainless 2wd exhaust system that i would probably swap with you.

A: sounds good mate i will have to find out exactly what i need to fit my motor downpipe etc

you need 2wd engine mounts and alloy arms that bolt to the block, but they're the same as any pinto engined sierra.

:cool i think i got some of them somewhere

as for all things driven by front belts, why can't you keep the 4x4 stuff with poly-vee belt?

A: isnt the power steering pump on opposite sides ???

cheers for your help mate

the things you need to change om the 4wd to 2wd items are

exhaust manifold from 4wd to 2wd, easiest option
sump
oil pick up
engine mount arms
you can take the remote oil filter off and put it back to a 2wd aswell if you want
engine loom needs modding as sensors are in different places

now if your 4wd engine has a multi groove belt and the 2wd is twin belt then take the 4wd pullies off and put 2wd on, and the p/s pump will go as in a 2wd place so inlet side as the 4wd block has the holes for the p/s bracket

if you want to run the multi ribbed belt then put the 2wd al bracket on and change the alt the pull, then use the std 2wd p/s bracketa again and a fan belt off a 2wd onto the front of the 4wd as it has the groove for a single belt as this is what the aircon is driven off
