Can't be an M if it was registered in 1992 - the M plate didn't arrive till August 1994.

Are you sure he paid that much for it?

The Ford list price would have been Ł 24,995 but the dealers were discounting them VERY heavely by late 1992/early 1993 as the Escort Cossie was in the showrooms, and of course, the Es Cos was "only" Ł 21,380 (non lux) to Ł 23,495 (lux)

Yes it was but for a very good reason - recession!
The Saph was born during the Thatcher "boom" years and prices of EVERYTHING was boyant (property/pay/cars - everything).......But by 1992 the bubble had burst and there was not that much money about anymore, so everybody (including Ford) had to re-adjust their list prices or risk not selling any product at all.

Can`t see why peeps get excited over late registered cars there the same as any other car.As for prices most late registered cars sale for peanuts because there old stock and they need to get rid.

most late registered cars are not sold for a reason eg bad colour damaged/ blown up before be for PDI etc and where prob left in a compound/ field for years before sold.

why pay 32k for a old stock car when most dealer that have old stock will sale them for prob half the price.
