Default Flat battery ? How long does yours last?

How long is reasonable to expect a battery to stay charged without the car being started before the battery goes flat ?

Would you expect the battery to be able to start the car after 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks of non use? Just wondering what people find with their cars and what people expect with their cars?

Cheers for any info

Mine lasts 2 days and Dies And its brand new lol Think i have a big drain somewhere ......

Oh well just dropped the car at grove and they said they would trace it So no more having to jack the front up to pop the bonnet to get it on charge, as the battery is so flat the doors won't unlock on the Alarm fob

james ,

a tip to find whats dropping the battery.
disconnect the main live from the battery and if you have several light feeds as well as a main feed to starter re connect them all in turn.have the ign fully off and watch for small arcing/sparks when you connect the leads.you might be lucky enough to find just one.
next
disconnect all the lives again and just reconnect the sparking one, then go to car and put ign to "dash lights on".dont start!!!.
just find the accessories that work and you current draw is one of those....ie alarm/clock/stereo

micky ,

have you a battery isolater on that track day yoke

Mine used to last 2 or 3 days Couldnt find a power drain and the battery tested ok.

Got totally pissed off with it never starting so i fitted the biggest, most powerfullest fook off great battery I could possibly fit in the tray - Job done, havent flattened it since.

(Its an Exide excel battery for a Granada 2.5 diesel)

Lasts anything up to 4 weeks now, still bursts into life!

Spoke to an auto electrician today who says the ciggy lighters do this on a Ford, they take little current ALL of the time

But on another note, chap is coming out next week to do some tests on the car to see what he can find
