I chose the new focus as my next car and wanted the 2.0 but was persuaded against it by people telling me a 2.0 would be bad on the petrol. So i got the 1.6 and it does an average on the juice of 19.3mpg. And it started off at something stupid like 6 and is slowly going up accoring to the computer.

But according to a mechanic i was speaking to in my local he said the 2.0 would of been better on fuel because its a powerfuller engine so therefore doesent need ragging as much to get going. Or should i say the extra pull means less acceleration which means more MPG (If that makes sense)

So what would be better on the fuel the 1.6 i got or the 2.0 ?

 

the 1800 is the best all rounder not much slower than 2 lrt but gives good economy 16 is a bit slow

 

with having a 1.6 in the focus then maybe it is working a bit too hard and may have been better with either the 1.8 or the 2.0
